Just starting out in PI
Hey guys, I'm new to eve and just want to know if someone can help me out. Just want to know a good location/planet/system to start my colony in regards to PI? And also, what mineral/gas is good to start on? I started off in an area called couster(I think). Thanks in advance.

I do a little PI in coust just click on the customs office & check the tax rate, Since rubicon some of the Corps who own them are charging really High taxes.

As Baneken said though in hi sec your not going to make a massive amount. I have about 15 planets over 3 accounts & most the profit goes into tax.

Thanks guys, also one more question. I am building some ships from blue prints, one thing I dont understand, is that when I go to build a ship there are materials and extra materials. What are the extra materials? Do I need to add the materials and the extra materials together.

Give an example of what you're trying to build.

Ah right, I remember now. Many ships have been rebalanced over the past few years, and some have had their material requirements adjusted. In order to prevent before/after cost discrepancies, they added the extra materials thing for those items that were affected. You need both base materials and extra materials to build whatever thing you want to build, but if you were to reprocess the item, you would only get base materials back.

At some point in the future, the extra materials will be merged into base materials.

If you plan on building more stuff I suggest you make aquintance with these :
http://zofu.no-ip.de/bpo
http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/blueprint_homeworlds.php
https://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/blueprints/calc.php

These are just some sites of calculating mineral loss during production and for calculating needed production and ME levels.
