Launcher error! :( Please help!

I have just bought the EvE Online game on steam for 4,99 euro and when I start it it says an error with "502"...I tryied everything!Please help!

Thats a bad gateway error. That is not a specifically an Eve Error but an internet error. Its an HTTP error meaning one server can not connect with another. Try restarting your computer. Its highly possible the error is being caused by some servers on your path from your house to Eve since that is exactly what the error means. And is out of your control. I suppose it could be a problem with Eves Launcher settings however.

You can also clear your Eve cache by deleting or renaming all the folders inside your appdata/local/ccp/eve folder. This will reset all your settings also. The game will remake the folders when it starts the next time. Also could be your firewall is blocking the connection. Try turning it off if you have one and retry to confirm if that is the problem.

The error basically means that the launcher made a request to a server to connect but when the server replied with how it wanted the data formed and the ok to proceed. The reply was invalid or it never even recieved a reply, the launcher said ..Huh I don't understand ( 502 ERROR )... so the connection cannot be made. In a lot of cases this is out of your control the server you are trying to connect to is having problems. Not always but if thats the case maybe it will fix itself.

The 502 error is often thrown when there are connection issues between Steam and EVE that are fairly often mentioned on these forums. You know, the ones that are the reason the standalone client is recommended. It usually goes away on its own in a bit.

However, as said above, it can also be caused if something on your end is interfering with the connection. Though because I've just read a whole bunch of threads in the same timeframe that were reporting this issue, I'm betting it's on Steam's end.
