Hide ship movement info?
Hey isn't there a way to move or hide the ship movement info (warping to, approaching, orbiting etc etc) Because it's RIGHT ON TOP of the Jamming info, I mean has nobody noticed this??

Also the windows are annoying they shift on their own when 1 is on top of another. This screws up my windows how I want them...

Yeah, the UI is getting a big revamp in December anyway. Hopefully the issues you're posting about should be fixed.

revamp != improved

if you recall, and your probably jump for joy at their decision, all future changes are going to be amd ebased on an experiment CCP did, where they took a bunch of people who had never even touched EVE before and put them in front fo the game for 30 minutes, they want to change the game to be the game they EXPECTED to play, rather than anything similar to what it has been. (in toher words, winter 2015 welcome PvP-free highsec and lowsec with a pvp flag, welcome dogfighting in 15km spaceships with cockpits [because somehow that makes sense] and welcome NPC mission quests giving levels and free ♥♥♥♥ because everyone wants WoW)

A player playing for 30 minutes is unlikely to get exposed to EVE's core, so I doubt it will go that far. I also doubt that CCP would flat-out sacrifice EVE's core for new players anyway. It would likely lead to a wholly different result from the one expected, and they're aware of that. It feels like they're aiming solely for usability improvements with this strategy.

I can understand the WASD movement thing, because that seems intuitive. But at the end of the day, WASD is still going to be way less efficient that the approach/orbit/keep at range combo in combat, because commands react instantly to target behavior, while manual control from a human doesn't. Even when you're trying to change your vector on the fly in order to escape damage, a double-click in space is going to be more time-efficient than manual turning.

Well they really need to fix this window thing because i have my windows set where i want them and they get shifted all over the place it's freeking annoying

Turn off window docking in the options. That will prevent the windows from being "sticky," which might help fix your problems. Although, I don't seem to have your issue. The game remembers my window positions really well, aside from new chat windows.

Oh right, you can also move the textboxes where the notification text appears on screen. Here's a pic of it: http://i.imgur.com/DiYm0.png

Uh I dont see any window docking option are you talking about window stacking? The problem is when 1 window appears in the same place as another window and it offsets it to let you see the previous window, but I don't want that becaue I have my main area divided into 2 columns, on the left column is where the info window, character sheet and wallet show up. In the right column is where training que and market show up, on second monitor I have inventory, chat and overview. So when I start switching between wallet, info and character sheet it offsets them and screws everything up with parts of the window getting covered up. I mean what's the point of it doesn't help anything if I want to switch to character sheet I just click the icon in the neocom I'm not gonaa try to click the little sliver of a window that's hidden behind the top window, also the close boxes get covered up so to close a window I have to click twice, once in the window to bring it to the front and another click to close it...

And "enter moving mode for messages" does not let you move the ship movement info text or the jamming notification....

You can't do anything about the little offsets that subsequent windows create when they're opened, afaik. However, the game should still remember primary window positions and sizes, such as market, wallet, etc. At least it does for me; those windows always open up in the same spot. Maybe I'm not understanding your problem fully.
Gubernaut Nov 22, 2014 @ 9:46pm
Uh the offsets are the problem, I want my windows to stay exactly where I put them...
Shotgun Nov 22, 2014 @ 9:56pm
But offsets only happen when you open multiple windows of the same type (such as showing info on a few different players). If you open, say, the market and the wallet, position them how you want them, and then close them, the next time you open them, they should retain their new sizes and positions. Does this not happen for you?
Gubernaut Nov 22, 2014 @ 11:14pm
No it doesn't retain how I set them after it gets offset... It retains the offset position. I don't want any windows being offset at all. I want the info window, character sheet and wallet to occupy the exact same space. I guess I can put them in tabs and see if that works ok...

Edit: It's improved but I have to get used to switching the windows with tabs instead of closing them when I'm done (hitting the close window X closes all the tabs in the window)
