1) people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and complained about how slow CCP said implementing any of that would be, after YEARS of them leaving core game mechanics broken
2) the engine that runs those graphics has a tendency to melt computers with mroe than 1 avatar in the same area
3) unlikely since the core playerbase of loud bittervets dont want anything "social" in the game
4) maybe though, since CCP is on a big "scare the old players away in favor of new ones" campaign right now, what with them removing so many core mechanics lately for a more "simplified" game.
I hope they add it in I would think they should be able to optimize it with levels of detail to run good. What kind of "core mechanics" have they removed that sacres away the older players?
Some "sacrifices" need to be made in order to replenish the player base. However, the only thing that CCP can change in order to consciously remove the old guard from the picture is to remove the "unsafe everywhere" aspect of EVE. As long as they don't touch this component of the game, nothing else can truly detract from the core experience EVE has offered thus far. Changing ships, skills, travel mechanics, etc, is all just a rebalancing act.
They really haven't done anything of the sort. Some recent travel mechanic changes have shaken things up a bit, but they haven't made old players less competitive to new players in any capacity.
i would definitely use it, as for how long, it would depend on the type of people i meet that day.
One would think they have the money to fix that.
Hah no kidding at 15 bucks a month and the crack addicting nature of the game. Then again if I had to choose between having stations to walk around in or a lower price I'd probably take the lower price.
And EVE can actually be quite cheap (around $8/month) if you grab a yearly sub on a discount.
Though just being able have "video conference" with other avatars while sitting on your couch in CQ would be good start.
No they don't. CCP has just been through a really bad period of layoffs and canceled projects. They are not doing too strong financially.
Please provide further information or links so I can research this for my own personal ends.
