The second was to trust absolutely NO ONE.
The second lesson was the reason I quit playing. I refuse to live like that so, I most certainly won't continue to play a game where that mindset is a thing.
That being said... all that is on me... not the game. I had a lot of fun when I played and I still say it's a great game.
I understand you dont like pvp, but you willingly went into a space that allows that gameplay freely.
As said above, if you come back, awesome, but no matter what hope you enjoy what you play.
Send you a friend request, if you ever get the "eve itch" i can teach you the ropes on how to live easily on high sec and pay for the sub plexing your account with ISK :)
Yes, dont worry the sites i can show you can be completed it with just a cruiser and basic alpha fit. Its takes a little bit more of time but they can be very profitable and you can come back with hundred of millions if you are lucky. check my screenshots if you doubt my word.
Mate, this is space. It's meant to be dangerous. Start small, get the hang of the mechanics step by step. The Astero is a very expensive explo/drone-faction-frigate. I fly one effectively with the most expensive drones and expensive modules. 200 million gone when I get popped; but I can afford it from the loot I gain.
New players should focus on less expensive ships, learn their strengths and weaknesses and also what you can engage and what you shouldn't. Learn damage types, learn what faction needs what ammo to fight them effectively, do missions, watch youtube vids. Low and Nullsec may be too much for now. Stay in highsec, participate in events, join a corp, use the help channel. You got to make these steps on your own, others can help but it's either you learning this or nothing.
Bigger ships doesn't mean better (since their big guns can't deal with smaller faster ship sizes). Everything depends on someone else. If you fly solo, this is a new area where you need to know more (choosing your target, stay away from others etc.).
If you are dying to gate camps, there are number of third party tools you can use to warn you of gate camps on your route.
If you are dying to people warping in on you and destroying you or uncloaking on you, you should always be checking your directional scanner and always be aligned out to a pre-made safe spot.
Also I would recommend using this fit on your Rifter instead of the one you died in:
200mm Autocannon I
200mm Autocannon I
200mm Autocannon I
1mn Afterburner I
Stasis Webifier I
Cap Recharger I
Small Armour Repairer I
Gyrostabilizer I
Multispectrum Energized Membrane I
Damage Control I
Orbit NPCs at close range and fire away. You should have enough CPU but if not you can drop the membrane to a Multispectrum Coating I.
If you put rigs on it, I would recommend one capacitor control circuit and two auxiliary nano pumps.
If you know what you are doing, being solo just means you have more targets :)
I'm not so sure about this mate.
