How hard is it to get PLEX for free?
Just so you know, I don't really like investing a lot of time into grinding, and I don't like spending money (Who does?) so I'm trying to find out how hard it is to get enough ISP (?) to get Plex for free.

Unless you're a meta-gaming genius, this will be virtually unattainable during the first few months, unless you grind a lot. As time goes on, you'll be able to make the required ISK much quicker.

How long would I have to play until I could get enough while playing 1-2 hours a day?

If you're just playing for the sake of being able to afford to continue playing, not too long. That's what, 30-60 hours per month? You'd be looking at a necessary income of 10-20 million ISK per hour, which you can get out of level 3/level 4 missions. So maybe 3-6 months, depending how good you are at the game.

But grinding for the sole purpose of being able to continue to grind is no way to play the game. You're going to want to spend ISK on fun stuff, like new ships and modules, as well.

To be honest, if all you can dedicate is 1-2 hours per day, you might want to look elsewhere. Well, that's a big range I guess; at 2 hours a day (and a bit more on the weekends) it's alright. But if all you can spend is one hour daily, EVE probably won't be enjoyable for you.

Alright, thanks. I would easily have more than 2 hours on the weekends, but I'm just going to try the 14 day trial and see how much fun it is or isn't. I might just start waiting for Star Citizen like everybody else.

SC and EVE are two completely different games. Spaceships is about the only common thing between them.

I concur that grinding just to get the ISK to keep playing so you can pony up for PLEX can only lead to ruin.

By letting others work for you you can make a good amount of ISK.

I'm surprised that Navy Raven in that video didn't drop a tractor platform to at least grab the valuable crap before leaving the mission. Especially the Arbalest. Seems like he didn't go for maximum ISK efficiency.

He likely missed the part on patch notes where shooting the tractor unit no longer gives it's owner a pvp flag and thus a free meal ticket for pirates.
Though 99% of mission ginders rarely even read the patch notes and just grind, grind, grind and the complain that it's boring.

Buddy as able to farm plex at a reasonable speed after about 2 months, though he got a free faction battleship from me as starting help. With current plex prices that is like $20 once to get some starting money and than just farm about 30 minutes per day to get to farm that plex.

BTW, he was able to pay back his billion isk bs within one weekend of heavy farming and managed to lose it after two weeks because he was stupid. Still made enough isk in that time to just buy another one :D

I can make the isk within 7 days easilly with only 2 hours of play each day. ASSUMING that was my focus, but then again I am sitting on 70m sp. I Tried to test it on an alt, and I was able to do it within 3 weeks of the same grind, but It was a pain in the ass.

It's possible but I honestly wouldn't recomend it for a new player. If you really want to play with plex I would recommend that you start playing and pay with cash and then further down the line you can start buying plex.

Paying with plex is quite easily a grind if you don't know your way around the game and it will take the fun out of the game.

The trial will not show you easy or quick ways to earn ISK. Many of the skills necessary won't be available for training so you're left to explore and do some missions.

EVE is a sandbox. There are no shortcuts.

I had to stop playing the game because even after paying several months normally, the price inflation of PLEX was getting to be more than I had time to earn. it became worthless to play because ALL the money I earn would go to PLEX leaving me no money for new ships or tier II modules. When I started PLEX was like 250mil, it was getting close to 700mil when I stopped. what is it at now?

still love the game, I may come back to it when I get more time back and get into a good corp again
