EVE Online
How to destroy a battleship?
yet again i've wasted several hours of my dam time all because of ONE enemy that won't go down, its pathetic.

now im failing yet another lvl 3 mission because i can't seem to scratch the shields of a BS, if it helps to say what type of enemy its a minmitar republic tribal Ymir

my drake is the only ship capable of damaging its shields but the BS is constantly recharging its shields, how the hell am i suppose to stand a chance against this? maybe some kind of electronic warfare? does it have any weakness?

what about a high RoF? surely faster firing weapons would stack damage quickly?
weapon dps = ((ammo damage * gun multiplier) / rof) * amount of weapons

Missiles don't have inherent multipliers, so it's just (ammo damage / rof) for them.

Anyways, the thing about the Drake (and a lot of other missile boats) is that they're simply not capable of putting out a lot of damage. Your best bet is to go with a passive-tanked setup (we helped you with setups before in another thread I think), and have at least two damage mods in your low slots. Even then, I doubt you'll break 500 dps with your skills and no T2 weapons.

Drake dps is just enough against lv3 cruisers and bc. Meanwhile, sentry myrmidon laughs and puts out more dps with added benefit of looking a lot sexier :P

just battleships, my drake can handle cruisers and BCs, im trying to find a perfect setup for my cormorant, i have mostly T2 modules but i can no longer get a stable cap

Destroyers will rarely havea stable cap, as they arent truly meant for PvE, they are meant for burst-fighting frigates and the occasional cruiser. They are also paper thin enough you can trade out a mid or low for utility without severely compromising you already paper-thin tank.

Lvl 1 missions - do in a frigate
lvl 2 - cruiser
lvl 3- battlecruiser
lvl 4 - battleship/T3cruiser

though it only takes a couple days to train up the "requirements" to fly a battleship, i WOULD recommend you get all the releveant fitting and engineering/electronics and hunnery/missile skills to 4, only takes maybe a week or a little mroe last i checked, but youd be surprised at how much better your ship will perform, since those skills will increase armor, shield, capacitor amount, capacitor recharge, ship speed, and fitting (CPU/PG)

Sniper naga works for lv4, and any of the t2 bc that can use the medium microjump can snipe too so you don't need a ship that costs over 500mil... (t3) well, battleships almost all work. Dominix and raven being the most popular ones, I guess.

yeah i just stated T3 because it is used. and generally for newer players i would recommend a battleship, since newer players have to train a few extra skills to use the tier3 battlecruisers, which they may lose in the wrong mission do to tank. battleships are easy enough to just rumble it out for a new player, large buffer, decent damage.
I mean hey man that really is just what happens sometimes. you just have to power through. with power. and such.

Yeah, and battleships have the most power(grid) of all the subcapital ship classes...

lol, that was somewhat humorous.
Depends on their res type and your dmg type mate. Either read up on mission and recommended loadouts or trial and error. Good luck mate.
also, buy faction ammo if you're really on the edge of breaking his tank :)
Yeah drakes are not known for their DPS. I think i can down that ship in 2 or so volleys in my nightmare.
Done many a level 5 in me drake so as a tank its is amazing for some runs. But offensively not so much true.

Drake gets decent fully passive resist tank, that's true. With a logistic support, tanking will be no problem. For dps, I'd recommend a rattlesnake.
http://www.ogrank.com/content/view/698/59/ you need that its helped me alot back when i used to run missions.
