EVE WILL RUIN YOUR PC
If you uninstall eve you have a chance in which it will end up deleting every single cache file.

This means all short cuts are broken. Restoration points deleted. And you will be left with invisable data attached to whatever hard drive the game was connected to. You open the drive and it is literally empty.

This game is the biggest pos I have ever seen.
I have no #&%#ing idea why the devs would allow something like this to happen.

!%@# eve.

Sounds to me like your drive is crashing/ has died. You have a cheap or old drive and it hit a really bad sector or something and lost the partition. While you clicking uninstall on the eve client did directly cause your drive to hit that wall and ♥♥♥♥ the bed, eve wasn't to blame, your drive is.

Go download the trial from their site. After that use eve's uninstall tool. See for yourself. This is a warning so people don't have to put up with this ♥♥♥♥.

I don't know, I wasn't there.

Look, if this was some kind of catastrophic failure, the blame lies with the OS and not EVE. EVE itself, like other games, is unable to cause this kind of damage. The uninstaller isn't some kind of magical virus tool; it simply calls on functions built into the operating system.

I would imagine that an issue of this magnitude would be well-documented on the Internet by now. Have you done a search?
See I would like to think it isn't ether, but when I downloaded it on steam, it said it was 8 gigs, then when I downloaded the client, it said it was around 290 ish megs, (I had already uninstalled it from steam so there's no way it was just a patch) Meaning that it was the steam version.I mean why is steam like 8 gigs, but downloading it from the client 290 megs? Somethings ♥♥♥♥♥♥ here budz. It deleted my fallout... IT DELETED FALLOUT *breaks down into tears*

You're gonna respond with "herp derp you're just stupid" maybe I'm just some stupid ass sheep who thinks that when steam says "uninstall" it'll do it without clearing out my SSD drive that it's on. It not only cleared out the game, it cleared out EVERY program, even teamspeak and world of tanks.

Now I might add that it only deleted the the one SSD drive, I have two SSD and one big ass ♥♥♥♥ drive that really only stores movies or programs like AXON. So this totals 3 harddrives that I have. Now my windows 10 is partioned into my C drive (SSD), my games I play a lot on my D drive(SSD), and origin on my H drive(SSD) and random programs on my G drive(dogshitdrive).

When I downloaded this, it said was cool with downloading to my D drive and I was like "alright cool, this is normal" then when I tried to install it. It would go through the motions, I would select my D drive to install it to because that's where my games go. NOW, this is where things get ♥♥♥♥♥, when I tried to install it. It would tell me my C drive was full. Which didn't make sense, because I was downloading and installing it onto my D drive. So naturally I thought
"Oh I'm stupid, I must have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up" so I went back to change it and it already said "location, installing to D drive" so I thought to myself "Hmmm, maybe I'll just do it again" Didn't work, it said "C drive was still full" (this was the installation process)

My friend who I was talking to said "Hey, just download the cilent, it's only like 290 megs"
So I agreed and downloaded that, ONCE AGAIN, it said it wanted to download to my C drive, which now I had space since it was much smaller.

Only later would I realize it deleted steam. all my games and programs on my D drive when I uninstalled it. I know it was the steam version because the client was still installed, and was also on the C drive, and when I uninstalled it, it clearly didn't wipe my C drive or I wouldn't be talking right now. I would have dove off my balcony into the parking lot below.

Well just fyi, this catastrophic failure is happening with other games as well, and the issues lies purely with W10. All your stuff should be recoverable too. Just do some Googling.

By the way, the reason the install seems small is because the base install only contains the executables and dlls and such. The bulk of the game is located in C:\ProgramData\CCP\EVE\SharedCache. I believe you can choose where the cache files are to be located during the installation process.

Yeah, I was there for boot.ini. Thing is, during the days of WXP and earlier, that file could be deleted without any sort of checks or permissions. Though it was also pretty easy to restore. It was super-annoying, but it wasn't like loosing all of your stuff on your drive.
