pvp orientated game ...
lots to do...
this is where eve stinks.... you need skills to do stuff in game.. therefore you are tied to your attribute points you pick which will dictate which skills you train first.
some differant categories of skills require differant attributes... which means you not gonna train at best potential (takes longer)
the sub is expensive ... to get the best prices for subs you need to buy the 2 year sub with plex @ 6600 plex which costs stupid real money hence you have to wait for the 20% sale to buy 20k plex which stil lcosts a whopping £329 to do it any other way is silly if you plan on playing for any lengh of time.
sounds great so far right? ....
unless you pick a profession where it involves you having to move valuables that makes you numero uno target during ganking event.
point of story.... read up on game bewore you invest any time cos it is one of the most expensive very much p2w credit card space exeprience. company is predatory AF.

The whole game is pvp and you can be attacked anywhere, except when you're docked. But attacking someone in high security space will spawn the local police force CONCORD to punish the attackers.
6 years ago, yes, now it's just a bunch of multiboxers hanging on to a outdated dying game.
someone is salty
yeah your right... it's you that is the salty one that can't handle any critique.
EvE is really bad...
If you're like me who just wants to mine ores in peace mindlessly going back and forth trying to make a profit and trying to avoid conflict in general then you'll be fine.
But if you're trying to do something big, then either be prepared to offer the game a lot of your time or your wallet.
Eve is a game that takes a long time to learn. If you are looking for a game you can play a year or more, then this is one of those types of games. This is typical of MMO style games.
I wouldn't call it hard to play, just hard to learn how to play. Once you know how stuff works, nothing is all that hard, but having someone to show you the ropes or spending a lot of time watching videos seems to be required (at least for me it was).
For instance, something you can do fairly early on (like within a month of starting) is Planetary Industry. I had to watch and rewatch and ask questions to understand how this works. I have it working, but I think not optimally.
Most things in Eve are like that. The first hurdle is to just get all the skills needed to do whatever it is you want to try. The second is to then collect all the ships and other things you need. The Third is to figure out how to do it. After that you can spend many hours perfecting and improving on whatever it is you are doing.
Lastly, Eve requires (in my opinion) real money to be invested. It is called Free to Play, but they should say Free to Try. To actually be competitive and even do some things in the game, you need a subscription.
Maybe you have an omega sub. If you do, then you won't see how much of the content of this game is blocked from those without one. They can access maybe 1/4 of the content. They do a good job of hiding that from those that pay. This is one way they lock you in to paying for the game. You get an omega sub, invest a lot into omega content, then if you let the sub expire, you are back in f2p and you can no longer fly your favorite ships.
I thought I'd play the game for free (they call this being an alpha). Was only a few weeks before I wanted the same ships as everyone had all around me and shortly after I paid for omega.
So it is definitely a free to try. You then decide to stop playing or pay for a subscription. The rare few continue not paying. Be interesting to see the statistics on this. I'd bet very few don't quit or pay up.
Not like when I started where there was no free Skill Points or any help.
