Why would they choice to eliminate it or minimized it? Thats just killing the game.
Anyway, there has been a lot of new PVE content llike the abyss, home front operations, pirate bases, and the funny and profitable seasonal events.
If you dont like the PVP the test server is for you there to play alone.
I said yes I am aware of that and wouldn't want that changed
I was pointing out that while I am a long-time EVE player the game is increasingly not something I can really play and enjoy but if it had more to do in PvE, organized events or similar which they have been adding I could spend more time with it
They have over the years added a lot more in PvE than it used to have but its still very limited. You either asymmetrical PvE or you don't play past the starter content which again is fine it was just feedback
EVE could keep more of its older players if it diversified its offerings, it already has the systems and mechanics but they fall off the face of a cliff really early. I get why they want to push you into being part of that PvP ecosystem more directly however for an increasingly large portion of the former EVE player base the classic PvP of EVE is just not viable.
Again that is fine not every game needs to be for everyone but it would be I think exceedingly easy to expand on the PvE keep more of your long-term players for longer without adversely impacting your core and they seem to be doing that little by little just not quite there yet
And yes I am aware that a lot of players have found little niches where they can mostly high-sec the game. But its not really intended its not well supported its there but its lacking. With minimal effort and no drawback that I can think of it could be made better, they could keep more players that would enrich the population and diversify the population which would be good for all especially the classic PvP player who often gripes about the stagnation of the population
And the poster you are qouting was trying to point out that EvE IS PvP. The PvE is just dress up , a grind you have to do in order to give your PvP losses meaning and to teach you the basics of combat. Also in order to create places that are worth fighting over , PvE spots are more like ressources that groups fight over than content in and of itself.
If PvE is your main focus, EvE just may not be the game for you simply because its fundamentally is a PvP game with bells and whistles to make combat meaningful and exciting, not just a casual click of the respawn button if you lose.
Yep they have and I have been enjoying them ... was just suggesting they go a bit further with the PvE stuff as I really enjoy EvE and have for a long time but PvP I really dont have the time for anymore I may still dable now and then if I get a stretch of free time and get stuck in ... but no by in large my time and availability really only allows me to be a filthy casual which leans well in PvE but sucks for PvP in EVE
I AM NOT asking for the game to be changed was just some feedback that with more PvE it could keep more of its players for longer
For me, my dream MMORPG would be PvE Eve-Online with the complex and epic storyline quality and length of Final Fantasy XIV.
What exact PvE content you want? be an industrialist. mining, planetary industry, market trading, manufacturing, mining, running missions [distribution, security, mining], or just spinning you ship in a station, that even has a counter. scanning anomalies, exploring black holes are also PvE, albeit there's risks involved of getting into PvP when venturing into black holes , nulsec, or even lowsec. heck, even just moving about in highsec could draw PvP if your ship is a tad shinier.
From there, maybe move on to incursions or attacking Pirate Forward Operating Bases (Not the faction warfare ones) which also can be done in High Sec.
Not sure if you've tried abyssal content, but that also is essentially all PvE, to the point where the harder tiers grant you some really good isk.
Home-front missions last, at most 15-20 minutes and shorter once you get the hang of them.
I never really understood why people run sites or missions, incredibly boring.
Mining you can walk away from your computer and do other things.
Half of the player base don't really count as it is a bunch of muti boxers, or free accounts. So it is hard to get numbers.
Truth is, eve is just not that type of game. The whole game has been balance around people who play 2-3 accounts at a time, and the pvp nature of the game will always be use as an excuse to not do real work on pve.
X4: Foundations!
Don't get into a subscription mediocre game that doesn't care about your time or money then bans you for things you did that don't hurt anyone! EVE Online is a cashcow for CCP and a blackhole for suckers.
X4: Foundations for life! ( OH and did I say that it is a ONE-time payment for an awesome game? )
But the Pve is quite varied, from industry and mining, PI to Mission running, anomlies, abyssals, FOB hunting, scanning etc etc. I think the way to keep it interesting is to do a bit of all of these until you find the thing you like to do most, then train to do it the best.
The x-series is single player. so if you want to play a multiplayer game that doesn't help much.
