how do people land on you instantly?
I logged in after not playing all day
picked a spot to go kill stuff
about 1 second into warping a random pops in local
before i stopped warping the random was already landed and waiting on me

how is this possible?
this isnt the first time people have done this how are people able to "guess" where i am going to be if i was in warp while they hit system

if i was next to them then they guessed which planet or whatever i was warping to that would add up cuz they would literally see my rough warp direction
but how could it be possible that they knew where i would be literally within seconds of hitting local while im in the middle of a warp?

https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Directional_scanning, combat probes, or just an educated guess from the anomaly types available in system and your ship.

where were you warping to? an asteroid belt or anomaly? experienced hunters can quickly guess where they think you are based on your ship, wrecks on d-scan etc.

which is more likely to be possible is, there is a chain of permanent cloaked spying ships lurking around gates. These do NOT pop up in local chat.

If they have tracked you down just like they do with everyone else (BOTs), so they call in a ganker or two which then are waiting for you .. on these "common" spots and locations ..

do not warp straight to designated location, but maybe 150km away (a second warp), and/or align and/or select a random station/outpost immediately.

also, keep your "Sensor Strength" aka Radar/Gravimetric/Magnetometric/Ladar, ECM as high as possible:: https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Electronic_Countermeasures#Countering_ECM

however, the "special" 14-days login campaign for "special people" is over, time to uninstall EVE OFFLINE again for next 5 years ..

if you are not within a fleet/alliance/null-sec/wormhole, just leave EVE OFFLINE .. it has become way too toxic against solo and PVE players .. EVE OFFLINE heavily prefers and supports PREMIUM PAY2WIN players and groups, so the rich becomes more rich .. just like in real life .. anything up 0.4 sec is slaughtered, dead and obsoleted long time ago already ..

literally impossible for him to scan me with probes i was literally 1 second into warp drive active (as in when your char is now invulnerable)

he gets into local on a random gate and hits where i am going to land

Local was empty when i logged in so i wasnt scouted

Maybe sure but extremely unlikely they would have seen at most a harbinger on dscan extremely unlikely as well since i hit dscan when i saw him hit local and it showed as nothing within 14AU

Dscan doesn't show cloaked ships.

a feq qs:

what were you warping to? what ship were you flying? (harbinger?) and what ship killed you? is your loss on zkillboard.com, by chance?

Cloaked players do show up in chat.

None of the large groups are funding their endeavours by PLEX sales lol… the entire monthly value of PLEX sold in the entire game every month is about enough to fund my alliance’s economic activity alone for a week.

Sounds like he jumped in behind you, saw where you were warping to and warped there himself. He was faster on warp and so overtook you in warp, landing on grid before you did making it appear that he was waiting for you.

In addition to the ideas form the others:
- Sometimes you disconnect from the chat server so you don't see who else is in local
- It's also possible that the guy disconnected and happened to reconnect right as you were landing

But most likely the guy just dscanned you after jumping behind you and was in a faster-warping ship.

I was in a station and he came into local from a gate
At this point id chalk it up to he got lucky and randomly landed on me

Local can't be trusted to show cloaked covops instantly. It's more likely you were spotted by one and in the heat of the moment didn't see them show up in local briefly.
