EVE Online

Hard reset. Lower pricing.
Honestly, what eve needs is a hard server reset, deleting all peoples assets and start from zero, the game itself is more than fine. it's clear that CCP only care about human money milking, but the solid solution to make it work again for consumers and make the player base grow would be a hard reset or multiple servers where they don't have a lot of ancient player dynasties. Also maybe the games price, and plex prices should be lowered to like halve. The pricing for mmo's has always been illogical compared to what it is. someone is definitely rolling themselves in cash every night. At least I can enjoy my totalwar warhammer 2 and now the third installment forever, with so much more high quality content, lol xD.

And what about all that money that people played to train their characters on the understanding that character progress is going to be permanent?

I think this game needs no reset, but higher pricing.

Does it really matter, it would only take a skilled player like you a couple of weeks then you will be flying aruond a capital ship ;D. But no joke they could keep there transability server as it is and start other servers so new players don't have to waste time on the old one. But honestly I think it would be best if they just push the delete button now and then.

I don't think you understand - doing something like this would be considered fraud.

Players pay specifically for training time. There's even a whole secondary micro-transaction market built around skill points. Also, the game has always been advertised as one in which progress is permanent, and the world is persistent. They legally can't reset anything without going out of business very quickly.

And while a new server is theoretically possible, they would never do that because it would split up the population, which would be catastrophic for the game.

So none of what you propose/desire will ever happen. There's no use in even discussing it.

they are going out of buissness already.

Answer this:
Why is it that whenever someone suggest something for the benefit of "new" players, it usually ends up being for the benefit of those that have played the longest?

That said, I don't remember this being the total warhammer hub.

Without skill reset its worthless. And that is already insane idea. Anyway. Eve is not the game we played 10 or 15 years ago and we are not the same either. People have experience and game mechanics well-documented. Hard server reset would not make a huge difference. Also some people would be mad.

Well, the process would be greatly accelerated when there's a class-action lawsuit from players like me, who kept multiple accounts subscribed for many years under the understanding that the game world would be persistent, as it has always been said and presented in the game's marketing materials.

Although I'm not an active subscriber currently if this would happen CCP would backstab every EvE veteran player like I am. Do you even imagine those thousands of hours of effort and patience to train skills through all these years while taking into account all the paid subscriptions it took at all? EvE would lose at least 3/4 of it's playerbase immediately.

Next is that EvE has injections as a catchup mechanic so nobody should really struggle in the long run to find a place in the universe next to all those veterans.

The only thing that CCP really could do to EvE is finding ways to let more casual players take part in the universe in terms of pve / carebear content. Which I'm absolutely sure will be reality one day in the future of EvE. I really don't think that CCP can keep the game running without collecting those types of players in the long run. So to me this is like the most logical step I could ever think of. Adding gameplay mechanics that aim to bring exactly those players to EvE, that are simply not interested in PvP and all it's risk / penalties. The main core of EvE players will stay exactly where they are and do what they enjoy to do.

Pretty sure that might have something to do with those expert skills thing they recently went live with, as a hope it'll encourage more to stick with the game long-term and convert to paid subs.

The game needs higher pricing and CCP has seen that their previous changes that made krabbing so easy have hurt the game. The problem is that they can't take the thousands of Titans and Supercarriers that exist now out of the game, all they can do is make it so they harder to acquire and therefor harder to replace. And let's face it: ISK had a massive inflation. What they could use is a money sink though.

inb4 some lore-based tech-breakthrough that allows null corps to have some sort of pocket dimensional gate system to their starbases as a reason make these large scale battles instanced and separate processing from the rest of EVE.
