EVE Online

Great game, horrible community
people who play this are somehow very elitist. People who've played for a year or more somehow think they are better than everyone just starting out. New players get mocked for buying the plex that CCP pushes down your throat while every senior player secretly does the same thing and than claims they "mined" or "worked the market" and made 200 mil isk that day....same epeen crowd I saw in WoW in the mid 2000s, quite sad display of human tragedy. Sad thing is, I tried this game 3-4 years ago, and I noticed some of these same players (I actually recognized their names ><) that were in mining chat and haul chat than giving new players ****, and the same people are still there now, doing the same thing. Guess thats the "hardcore" eve crowd for you.

Great game, but horrible community.

Shotgun, Just reading your comment tells me that you take this personally, there is nothing personal about what this person says. It is pretty much a statement about the toxic community in eve, you have just demonstrated by your useless comments that yep..you are probably the bunghole that makes it toxic.

Absolutely not. I'm just not letting people get away with misinformation, that's it.

You're free to think that if you want. Nothing I will say will change your opinion anyway.

"Probably" being the key word, anyway. Not that you'll ever find out for sure, since you'll never play with me. If you think that I'm the toxic one, then my money is on you not lasting longer than a month or two in this game before quitting in anger and frustration.
You're Breathtaking!
the actual funny thing about this thread is where we helped each other through different comments, gave tips and recommendations, had a good discussion, exchanged some eve stories and everyone had a great time (except for ExplorerNMS of course)^^ "horrible community"... ironic

Other than one or two people that were determined to troll and argue/accuse/etc, you guys have been pretty helpful. The original poster did bring up one thing though that I've seen: When I was an alpha gallente character last year, a lot of players were telling me in corp chat with the gallente starter corporation that they were making over 100 million isk an hour running combat sites. I was thinking that kind of seemed exaggerated a bit. I can see an experienced player making 100 to 300 million per day realistically but I think 100 million an hour is a bit much. I dont even make more than 20 million a day unless I get lucky and hit all the good data and relic sites. It's unpredictable income and sometimes i play for 3 hours and find just some petty loot. Combat sites spawn all the time and someone doing them in lowsec or nullsec with a battleship can probably make 10 million every half hour but 50 to 100 million? No way.
im doing about 100ish million a hour out in nullsec atm with just a battleship. 20 million a hour in nullsec is T1 cruiser levels of ratting. i get 15-20 million isk per bounty payout and and 33% of ratting income is taken by ESS and payed out every 2 hours (atm). plus i get about 12 million isk worth of loot every site and i do 3ish an hour.

and L5s in a super carrier do something like range of like 300-500 million a hour iirc

Wow, really? So that's enough to buy a month of plex every week. Are you playing for free? :)
i very much COULD be if i tried tho that would be a fair bit of ratting in 1 week. (hell i could plex in one DAY if i REALLY tried but that would be hell)

Not only are those figures possible, but much bigger figures are in fact possible. If you run wormhole sites efficiently, you can make over 200 million per hour. Same with tier 4 and 5 abyssals. Even high-sec missions, properly chained, can yield hundreds of millions per hour, but the intensity is pretty extreme, and it's easy to get burned out.

All of this, of course, doesn't even come close to the amount of ISK you can make per hour working a minimum wage real-life job and converting your income to PLEX.
TheMarcosianOne původně napsal:
I bought a bit of PLEX and sold it for ISK to buy skill injectors but as far as keeping the game fun, I try not to buy myself into everything that I want to do or get because it takes away the challenge appeal .
Challenge yourself against other players, not NPCs. NPCs are "challenging exactly once (if at all), while players will react differently every single time.

If you can afford not to grind ISK, you should make use of that opportunity.
the thing with combat site exploration, and why I enjoy doing them, is that you never know what will drop. lets say I run a 4/10 guristas site in highsec in my jackdaw. it might just drop some faction ammo. but it could also drop a Gila bpc. or a dread guristas scram. or a c-type multispectrum shield hardener. or all of it. I kinda like that. yes, you may run 5 sites and only get ammo but the next day you might run 5 sites and end up with over half a bil. so its not as consistent as running anoms in null or lvl 4s in hs but, at least to me, way more interesting. and yes, you can run these in a cruiser as an alpha.

You just reminded me of a question I meant to ask: how come blueprint copies can't be sold on the markets? I have a Zeugma Analyzer blueprint copy with 3 runs on it that I got from a data site in nullsec. It would be cool to have the skills to make them all and use them to free up a mid-slot in an explorer or to sell.

I'm sure the blueprint is worth something on its own though.
Make a contract for it. Either straight up sell or auction.

you need a contract. BPC are worth very little, even more so unresearched. but hey isk is isk and if you already have it in a trade hub might as well sell it.

Because BPCs can have different research levels and copy amounts, meaning that each one is technically a unique item, and can't be stacked. The market only supports selling default items that are packaged and can be stacked.

Some BPCs can be worth quite a bit (like those for faction items), but you'll have to use the contract system to sell them. Make sure to do some research on prices by checking what other are selling them for. Remember to account all prices for copy amounts.

I'm claiming its not a toxic community with stating that we actually helped each other in a thread about how horrible the community is. which in your words means I was 'posting abuse' at some point. and now you didnt say that? mate...

No. My post said the people posting abuse are the ones claiming its not a toxic community.
Now as an aside I put this to the test. I took an alt out to a system only 4 jumps from the starter system. Guess who was there running their usual protection scam?
Oh yeah Code/Safety. They even have an alliance message saying they are there to protect miners so long as they pay them for their licence.
Now the starter systems have been totally mined out by bot miners. So where are people going to go? Oh yeah they are forced to go into other systems. This is what noobs do. They do not realise whats waiting for them only a few jumps away.
So they get killed. They stop playing.
The fanbois on here can claim all they want. Go put it to an actual test and see what is happening.

Now show me on the retriever where the CODE gang touched you.
