Niarja and the Era of Chaos
so, as some of you have probably seen, Niarja is currently invaded by the Trigs and so far it looks like groups are fighting for them to help turn this system into low and finally null sec. as this system connects the Jita - Amarr route the new safest route would then take 45 jumps or 23 jumps if you go through low while having Niarja on avoiding list. this route would also include hotspots like Huola, Amamake and Rancer.

I'm currently unsure if separating the main high sec trade hubs like this is a good thing or not. what do you guys think? my guess is that hauling might has to adapt a lot. on the other hand, its just one system and cynos, bombs and bubbles are not allowed in the converted systems. but new players will probably have a bad time trying to travel through there or they have to do a lot of jumps.

its also gonna be interesting to see how this plays out in terms of price variations between hubs. especially in Amarr. and it could potentially be a nice place to have some good fights too. definitely an interesting addition to Chaos.

It will result in Amarr being the least-populated high-sec empire region. Will this be inconvenient? Sure. But it will also be really interesting and exciting. Although cutting off Caldari space would have been an even more interesting outcome.

Also, the next Trig phase will likely turn all of those "flipped" systems into a different sort of high-sec, possibly with its own version of NPC protection forces.

I think it could also cause the opposite. turning Amarr into a more viable hub for the south. people that farm armor deadspace modules in the south wont go to Jita anymore to sell them but leave them in Amarr instead. same with shield deadspace modules in Jita. exciting for sure. also ship prices might change. looking at lp stores in caldari and amarr space there a quiet some ships and modules that could become dominant and cheaper in the respective region.

Player psychology will always push the majority toward a single, central location. That's just how things are.

but thats the thing: there will be two central locations. you think players of the south will now all move to Jita and abandon all their stuff? I dont think so. of course its all speculation and we'll see how this turns out.

imo an interesting update is that Goons side with the Trigs and TEST now joins the Edencom guys so there will be some awesome content in the next days.

Just flip all connection to Jita, problem solved.

Effectively, yes. Players and their items will slowly trickle to Gallente and Caldari space over the course of a few months, and Amarr space will become less populated than Minmatar space (which is the least-populated area right now).

Interesting thinking. I still think it will evolve in Amarr getting stronger as a hub. I mean, production in null wont be affected and the south might just go to Amarr. or even Ashab if someone like TEST put up some structures. you think the other hubs like Dodixie or Rens will see some growth?

There's a trade Keepstar in Ashab already.

I think that it's highly likely, unless other choke point systems are invaded, that Jita will remain as the primary hub, but Gallente space will see significant growth because it would be the central area between Caldari and Minmatar space. Amarr space will simply be too far from the rest of high-sec (it's a really long alternative route) to be of significance. Minmatar space might see some minor growth, especially around Hek.
