AFK mining in 0.9; are rats even a thing?

Just a simple question, do rats show up in 0.9 and if so, how often? Do I need to worry? Are they even strong?

Bonus question, how's 0.8?

I like to set it and forget it while I am working. Might as well get something during that time.

a venture with 2 light drones can handle any high sec rats when mining you'll only see weak frigs and destroyers. rats get more dangerous in low sec (cruisers and odd battlecruiser) and null sec you can get up to 3 elite battleships spawn in sometimes
