I'm a Noob to Eve & still learning how to play but just out of curiosity should i be selling my Ore to a trade station or a refinery? or somewhere i don't know yet.

You're realistically going to want to sell it where you'll get the most for it.

Using a third-party tool site like evemarketer can help with this, however the issue then becomes about transportation to the station. If however, the buy order for the ore at x price is across the constellation of the system or the system's entire region then there's less travel involved. Chances are though it's going to be at the specific station.

Alternatively you can always contract it to someone/a mining-focused corporation at a slightly lower value since they'll be the ones transporting it to sell (aka every ore buyback program that other corporations have), but the issue then is finding who to contact for that and where it's located.

Firstly the type of structure you sell it in is a moot point that doesn't matter much as most refineries don't have market hubs installed anyway as they lack the fuel reduction to properly run them and it isn't like it affects how much taxes you pay either.

However, I'd recommend selling ore firstly to your corporation or via private contracts. This has two main benefits of being fast and cutting out the trade tax as Private Contracts only have a flat fee for posting them instead of a percentage of the cost. Additionally selling to your corp helps out your indy guys and is a quick sell typically though you may end up getting a little less than Jita price for it though that is the tradeoff for a quick and safe sale.

Otherwise I'd check your particular region and see what the main trade hub is, like Hek is Boundless Creation, Jita 4-4, Perimeter trading tower, etc and then dump the compressed ore on the market there. Unless your refining skills are maxed and with the implant you should never refine your ore as you'll be losing out on a good chunk of isk both in lost resources and reprocessing fees.

Now if you want to make the most money for your ore you'll need to use a website called Evemarketer this site lets you check all the markets at once to find the best buy/sell price of an item and if you feel like making the trip you can sell your ore in distant regions. Though the value usually does not warrant the trip typically.

Overall I'd recommend joining a corporation with a good Ore Buyback program that'll pay you top dollar for your ore
