The Evolution of Eve online
Eve online was one of the games I envisioned back in the early 2000s, and this game became a wish come true. I loved games with an economy, and trading and I wanted a space game. I found it so much fun to watch this game evolve, but after playing it for so long I saw many people just sit in the station, while some people played it like it was their own career.

I've been ruminating about ideas I had for eve online and how to make it better. After playing an idler game I thought about how to automate it to where you could use a phone app just to send your character out on some missions and just only see the end result and send them out again. The phone app would have to be scaled down and you would have to be a plexed character. The player who is active by phone will not actually be in the interactive world, while a player who is idling from a computer will have different options to let AI take over and play for you.

A- Fighting missions - These missions the pilot is given a ship loaner to use just for the mission and you return it when you are finished.
B- Transport missions -
C- Mining mission

Besides automating it, it's still fun to take the wheel and drive. It's even more fun when you have all these idling players in low sec and null sec feeling overly confident as they are taking a risk with their own ship to get a higher payout. It could be fun to have those types just to shoot down as fodder for the newbie PVPer.

The next thing I was thinking about was expanding the Planetary interaction so that it becomes a little more expensive and risky, but still has a good payout in the end. This you might love and might hate at the same time. The goal is to give players a more PVP sense with this and get them investing more into the planetary interaction.

New content - Training people who you hired to higher levels and getting more out of planetary interaction. This will make it to where you can deliver people to the planets and your PI bases to either protect them, invade someone elses to grab what you can and run, or send hunters out hunting various types of meat. Then on populated city planets you can sell illegal drugs, or train your troops by having them join military or policing activities and your company makes profit off of it. You can even sell your employees after they are trained up. Also make cooking and collecting different recipes a thing to where you can feed your employees a basic meal or buff them up with an exotic meal that gives them an advantage. Try adding over 100 different types of growing plants and build recipes with meats, vegetables, spices, and medicinal drugs.

Soldiers - fighting and defending
Hunters - getting meat from the land
Drug dealers - selling drugs on populated planets
Farmers - Farming goods and drugs
Fishermen - Get a fishing boat going and some disco crab cages

I've got a few more ideas, but my brain quit working after writing all this. Please give me some feedback on how you think about these ideas. I kind of wished I could have been part of the development team, but had to run from some gooney who wanted to throw poo at me. Now I'm stuck without a spaceship in a tight place, and I caught a werewolf disease.

I dislike the phone app. It's basically getting stuff for free and not reallt engaging with the game, rather to Planetary interactions for passive income. Also eve echo's is doing just that pay for something to play the game for your REALLY BAD. Overall this just feels like a lot of mobile energy.

No. Eve Echos is already a dumbed down EVE for a phone.

Idler games are some of the most boring things on the planet. Plus CCP has many times stated their destain for automation. Botters are already a plague on EVE and when they get caught those accounts get banned fairly quickly.

We dont need more phone game garbage.

PI is fine the way it is. If you want planetary stuff petition for them to dust off Dust 514.

You don't think it would be more fun to fight some of the afk people when they feel like risking a high payout area? I think it is fun for the beginners who feel like everyone is higher then them after playing for 2 or 3 months.

I don't think idle gaming is not fun, it's just because most people can't play games all day. Some might have to do homework and they sit in a station reading a book, or doing something other then playing. This gives them a little break from the bookwork and then a little interaction with the game to where it keeps playing for them. Then you can immerse yourself in it when you have time.
