I found an empty astrahus, I evaded getting nuked.
Step 1: Don't panic.
Step 2: Panic.
Step 3: While in K-space, use the various settings on the map to see which systems are heavily populated (high number of jumps per hour, rats killed, avg pilots in space, ships killed, high military and indy sov index) and avoid them. You want to avoid getting spotted on intel channels.
Step 4: As mentioned above, perhaps your best option would be to scan for another escape wormhole, backtrack if needed.
One more thing to mention, if you look at the information window for the wormhole connection you're jumping through, it'll give you an idea how much longer the connection will last. "Not yet begun to decay" means it'll last about a day, "beginning to decay" means you've got a few hours, "reaching the end" means less than 4 hours. There's also a warning about ship mass passing through the wormhole, can be used to identify wormholes with a lot of traffic (also relevant to folks looking to collapse unwanted wormhole connections).
Assuming you're looking to get your stuff to a trade hub to cash out, try to get to low sec if you can't find a connection to high. With low sec, you can dump your stuff at a station and scout the route to high to see if there are any gate camps (and exploration ships are hard to catch on gates, especially t2 with cov ops cloaks); if the route is camp-free feel free to retrieve your loot and bring it to high.
I'll let someone else tell you about bubbles and cloaky npc ships
