EVE Online

Bought the starter pack, what now?
Hey... So after playing for 8 hours on steam trial, i decided to buy starter pack.
I thought that i can make up for time spent on the other character fast on new account.
But when i bought it, nothing much happened. I got a bunch of redeemable items in main menu and that's it. How do i know if i'm still trial or not?
Anyone can help me sort the confussion out? Appreciated.

If you bought the game you're no longer on trial. To claim your items press Alt Y in a station of your choice.

EDIT: Hmm... just saw your second post. That's odd. Sounds like a question for customer support.

But everyone said that buying Starter pack will result in a start over, from scratch. New character. Are You positive about this?

Honestly, I'm not sure. Usually when folks refer to the trial they mean the regular off-steam trial which cannot be linked to a steam-based EVE account, so someone trying the regular trial and then getting the game off Steam would normally be starting fresh. I don't know whether the same holds true for Steam weekend trials. Your best bet would be to get an official answer from customer support.

Hmm. It really feels like it's working. I mean, i just got a steam trading card. After 30 minutes from buying starter pack.

You're probably not logging into the proper account. The Steam-EVE account isn't going to have a login name/pass by default.

so unlike regular situation of having to create new account when you buy starter packs, buying it on top of the created account from the free weekend will work without a new account created.

Thanks for direct answer! Is there a possibility that You could announce it?
I've seen many people in-game confused about it. EVE veterans aren't able to help the newbies with that because They are used to the old trial system, and They are convinced it requires making a new account. Thus confusing even more people, hence threads like this one.
You could help lots of people, simply stating that Steam trial can be upgraded with starter pack. :)

yeah it will try to charge you unless you turn off autopay in account management. If it fails then the subscription will expire at the end of the subscription period.

I thought I had signed up for the free weekend steam trial but seem to have the 14-day instead! It's accessed through Steam and Eve. Can I upgrade it with core or premium?

I've bought the core and i'm having troubles with it, It gave all of my core items to my trial account yet it didn't upgrade me to a normal account.

@Tidesnapper I followed the prompts as instructed for the steam weekend trial and originally ended up with two accounts, one for the weekend steam trial and another for the 14-day trial. I made a character on the 14-day trial but it was not recognised on the weekend trial which wanted me to make ANOTHER character. I have since removed the weekend trial. I'm now unsure whether I can upgrade and keep my character and skills.
