@werewold62 I mine because I dont care that much for pvp and I kinda like mining and scavanging / salvaging - call me strange but I do enjoy it - I sell my ore - minerals - on the market - That way I supply the corp crafters with materials for their own pvp endevours. :)

But yes, I know that minings frigates can be used - but I presume I'm correct in saying that mining barges can NOT be used by the Alpha clone....?

I would assume they cannot. IIRC, CCP put out a complete list of skills trainable by alphas somewhere (I wonder if alphas will be able to train gas harvesting?).

They did say something about alpha's beeing able to cloud harverst or gas harvest...cant remmember which but I read something about it in the "summit" thingy

A rare buff to suicide ganking, I must say. I will expect more great fish fries come November. Might even start my own alpha gank alt to join in on the fun.

Been there, done that, got the coffee mug. Killed a few freighters, a vargur once, and even a retriever in a fit of pique. Now days, I'd rather mine than suicide gank.

Besides, CCP hasn't taken the option of making it so alphas have locked safeties, and can't commit crimes, off the table yet. Personally, I hope they don't go that way but I can understand the reasoning for why it would be considered.

You guys know npc mining fleets come out and you can mine with them and if your standings are high enough they will defend you. So you mine in a rorqual and get attacked you invuln your fleet for 5-8 min while a random defense spawn of the local station miners pops in webs scrams neuts vamps ecm weapon disrupts your gankers. Try it on sisi i got jumped by a fleet of 14 in a .4
New mechanics are gonna be hella fun. Also a good miner never gets caught. Shout at me for info or collaboration ingame.

Can you post more specifics on this? Does it happen in high-sec too?

Well it doesn't look implemented yet, its only on the singularity test server from all I can find. But yes it does appear to be in High Sec as well.

Yes, only mining frigates T1 (tech 1 venture) , all other mining ships are unusable.
Combat ships go up to Cruiser. Again no ship above Tech 1.
