Can a joystick be used?

Intrested in buying the game, but first want to know if you can use a joystick to fly your ship like in elite dangerous?

Flying is not like that in EVE, it is more point and click flying in EVE and not ala 1st person shooter prespective.

ahh right... Not sure i will like this game much then. Is there a lot to do in it, or is it just mainly pvp?

There is loads too do. It is basically World of Warcraft in space but with much higher punishments for failure. The game was very complicated once but in the last year it dumbed down. It is free to play with limited content from Nov. The game is done on the launch of Star Citizen MMO in 1 year time so I'd not get too invested. You'll have great fun playing asa free player though.

Manual control (still possible, just not with a stick unless you go through a lot of binding hoops using special software) is irrelevant in a game where your weapons auto-aim themselves, and damage is calculated using trig formulas. A game of EVE's scale wouldn't work if hit detection was a thing.

There is a first person pilot mode... it's more a gimmick than anything else.

Nahh man it might be possible but it would be utter ♥♥♥♥. Same like the guy who played dark souls with some kind of bongos. Possible but completly stupid. Eve is Point and Click, you mainly play it with the menue. While the graphics look pretty cool you could basically play it without even seeing any of these and just the tabellas as such.
