Are Corax's as bad as they are portrayed?

I never see other players flying them, and often find people bashing them. Are they really that bad?

Unfortunately Coraxes are currently in a bit bad spot. Missiles are not as good in PVP (with the exception of Caracals' RLML) and Corax doesn't have such interesting opportunities as its rail counterpart Cormorant. I've seen one Corax fleet so far and while it was okay, still not a stellar performance.

For PVE, I guess they're okay but then it's PVE.

The Corax got a wiff of the balance stick a patch or two back, but it still needs work. It is the slowest of the sheild destroyers, has a larger sig than the rest, and given that the Talwar does everything the Corax does and faster it gets left behind. One way to get people to take another look would be the drop the kinetic lock for the damage bonus, then maybe we can forgive the speed (if CCP just made it faster then it would be another Talwar which is what they are trying to avoid).

It's a cheap disposable gank ship. Or at least thats the only thing I have used it for. It's inferior to the counterpart though.

make the corax drone bay functional ( you might have noticed it)

it's good for volley damage. i use a LM corax instead of the artillery thrasher in situations where i might have trouble with tracking.
