What did you lose?
not in an entertainment product that I, the consumer, pay for, no.
frustration, stress, being abused, being scammed, being killed for fun and lose everything and the only reason is "tears (tm)" your abuser waits for your reaction as he feeds off of it like a vampire?
and you, the player, pay for it?
then no, I cannot "handle words" nor can I "take the heat".
Guess that makes me a communist, not wanting to pay for my own abuse.
This is a video game, not real life. You're not driving a livery cab for 15 hours a day to put food in your children's mouths. Maybe try fitting some guns to your ship, and go out and shoot someone and make jokes with people in local chat and have fun, instead of treating the game like a second job and complaining when someone else disturbs the grind louder than an assembly line worker after the conveyor belt jams up and they're concerned about not being able to meet the employee-of-the-month quota.
Funny that, I actually had the "pleasure" of living behind the "iron curtain", in one of the "people's republics".
What does that have to do with anything?
What does your statement have to do with a topic?
This is NOT a game - this is a GRIEFING activity, where there are two kinds of players:
1) masochists
2) abusers
False. Just because you're personally unable to find a happy medium between two alleged extremes, doesn't mean everyone else can't as well. It's your own personal failure that you're unable to ensure that you aren't "abused" as you call it. The game provides countless methods and mechanics for you to avoid and/or protect yourself from aggression. It sounds like you're ignoring them all, however, in favor of whining about your entitlement to not have to use the tools available to you because all you want to do is turn on the game and walk away from it while money pours into your wallet.
No, it is not "my personal failure", when the game itself is designed for griefing and the masochist-abuser interaction.
You're choosing to adopt the victim mantle willingly, because you refuse to engage in any behaviors and activities that would protect you from unwanted aggression because you feel entitled to not have to do anything of the sort since it would be an inconvenience to you. You're doing the EVE analogue of moving your Chess pieces wherever you want on the board without considering the consequences, and then complaining loudly when the other player takes them.
Up your game, read guides, and ask questions and for other players to help you if you have to, and you won't have any of these problems. Or continue to AFK-mine in untanked ships, and then cry about your losses. Your choice, your responsibility.
I normally ignore these petty remarks, but I can't help but comment once in a while to assure the rest of the readers that 1) there are level headed people around too, and 2) the vast majority of these comments are false, posted by 'those' kind of people who only want to spread their hate.
As with these forums, the negative remarks you hear in-game are from a minority of griefers, that are unfortunately everywhere in life. But you don't take notice to the sensible people. It's the squeaky flies that are out of the norm, who go out of their way to try to upset someone else to compensate for their own shortcomings. And if you let them bother you and pay their hate forward, then you're becoming just like them.
Whatever bothered you, try to change your mindset, and you'll notice that you meet people like that much less often. Sounds crazy but it works.
