Multiple Characters

I'm just wondering that if you have to have 2 accounts to run 2 characters in the game at the same time what's the use of them giving you the option of setting up 3 characters on one account??? If you're serious about doing that then the characters you set up should be able to be active and conrollable/ trainable at the same time...
BTW Love the game and am committed all the way as an Omega for the next year...Also love the Corp that I was lucky enough to be recruited into and the people in it... For me it's the people you meet and fly with and have relationships with that make this game worthwhile...

The game wasn't always free-to-play. Before 2016, you always needed to sub, outside of the "trial account" period for the first 2-3 weeks. Extra character slots meant that players could have some alts without having to have additional paid accounts (e.g. hub price checker/market characters and industry/research alts for data cores). It's essentially a legacy feature today.

Then either do away with it or modify the game where you can run multiple characters and their accounts from the same common login... Has anyone brought this up to CCP

I made the above comment because I play the game through Steam and once you load it via Steam..That's it.. It's on your acct and you can't load it again to that Steam acct... So if you play through Steam the way I do then one acct is all you can have.. I had and in fact still do have an old acct with CCP.. The problem is that the acct for CCP and the one for Steam are not compatible with each other.. I know.. I've tried and it really screwed the game up.. The fun part is that I made sure that I only ran the one acct which is Steam but that old acct is still with CCP just inactive... Can't delete that old acct.. Tried to do that as well...

Well they can't do away with it because of how many people already have additional characters on their accounts. I suppose the latter could be a paid feature (i.e. if you have multi-character training, then you can do it). I'm sure it's been proposed.

The launcher supports multiple accounts. Just click "add account" in the lower left and log in with your second account. You can also log in with your Steam EVE account on the website, and in account management, create a regular login/pass combo for it so that it's usable with the standalone EVE launcher that you can download from the website.

Appreciate the info and the help.. already have Steam setup and am using the launcher... Problem occurred when I had both accounts in there... For whatever reason the Steam acct and the EVE CCP account did not like each other one bit.. Caused all sorts of problems with the game.. Don't know why and neither does CCP or Steam

You said you're Omega, but I think it should be noted that in the EULA you're forbidden from playing 2 or more accounts simultaneously, unless you're an Omega. Not sure if anything changed (I'm not reading the EULA again) but it used to be that way.

How they would catch you if you had multiple Alpha accounts, on multiple computers, I don't know.

They wouldn't, and they generally don't care. It's something they allow you to get away with unless you're being flagrant about it, like by running a farm of mining or Gila multi-boxed accounts.
