What equipment would you guys recommend for a Level 1 Serpentis Hideaway?

As for countering them, aside from Rouge Drones which a a dedicated pirate npc group, you'll only ever face drones launched from another player's ship. In which case you'll either target and shoot them the way you would any other object in space, use a smartbomb (which comes with it's own host of complications), or ignore them. The correct answer is super situational.

So it's safe to assume that the Serpentis enemies won't have them. Alright.

Just picked up the armament you mentioned, I'm now sailing to get the afterburner. After that I'll grab the three upgrades you specified and we should be good to go.

Alright, I got everything you specified minus the drones and the Stasis Webifier. Everything works fine, although I can't use the armor repairer because I have no Repair Systems skill.

It's time to clear that mine. Wish me luck.

And after all that I come back to the same asteroid field and there's no Serpentis frigate to be seen. The funniest part? Two unattended Hobgoblins ripe for the taking have taken the frigate's place, and I snatch them up.

I guess I have some drones now.

There you go. Most NPC's aren't nearly as scary as the various forms of Drifters or Sleepers and can be killed with realtive ease.

Good to know. I did just encounter a Serpentis Scout (didn't see what ship it was flying,) and a Serpentis Initiate (Velator) in a different asteroid field, after some scouting, and I ripped them to pieces. So yeah, I was overestimating them thanks to my encounter with the Autothysian Lancers.

Thanks again for the list of equipment. Like I said, I didn't have a clue what was good or bad in this game.

Good to hear, because remember the part about my ship being fitted with Civilian Gatling Railguns? I made a post here about how to get more of those a few days ago. I don't think it gets any more ridiculous than that.
