What equipment would you guys recommend for a Level 1 Serpentis Hideaway?
What ship, weapons, skill levels, et cetera.

Any half-way decent destroyer can do this, most frigates probably can as well (like a Merlin or Punisher). It’s not exactly a challenging site.

I had a run-in with Autothysian Lancers and they almost dropped my destroyer's shields instantly. I guess it made me a little paranoid that everything in this game is challenging to even a battleship.

Thanks for the answer.

Autothysian Lancers are a challenge for anything short of a well tanked T3 or a Marauder, I used to kill them for fun in my Golem.

The ones to really watch out for are the Drifter battleships, they will pod you (if they kill you that is): https://support.eveonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/212103929-Autothysian-Lancers-and-Drifters

Here's another question, because like I said:

Thanks for the answer.

I ran into a Serpentis agent flying what appeared to be a Gallente Atron frigate, how dangerous is he? Or can my destroyer take care of him easily with the right weaponry?

Destroyers are designed to kill frigates. Against the sort of pirate NPC (Serpentis is a gallente pirate faction) you're describing you can usually get away with just an afterburner and a stasis web+guns to kill them.

What destroyer are you using?

Algos, except I fitted it with five Civilian Gatling Railguns, (for use against the Seekers you encounter in the tutorial) and now I have absolutely no clue what weaponry I should use against actual enemies.

Edit: However, I still have the pair of Light Electron Blasters that the tutorial issued me and some ammo left over for them, if that helps.

Edit because my Lancer encounter made me super paranoid: The agent isn't going to call in any other reinforcements or anything like the lancers do if you kill them, right?

Pro tip: check a ships description for it's bonuses and go from there. For example, the algos is a drone/hybrid gunboat with bonuses to both.

This is your enemy: https://eveinfo.com/npcships/i/11045/serpentis-agent/

He shouldn't call in reinforcements. Though if he does and you lose your ship, I'll replace it.

[Algos, Algos - pve]

Small Armor Repairer I
Damage Control I
Magnetic Field Stabilizer I

1MN Afterburner I
Stasis Webifier I

Hobgoblin I x5
Hornet I x5
Hobgoblin I x1
Hornet I x1

This will run any regular hideway (meaning any that don't have the Forlorn, Forsaken, or Hidden modifiers) and kill any highsec belt rats you run into.

Edit: You may be lacking on some fitting skills. I doubt I have any characters even close to your current SP so it's hard to judge what you can or can't fit. If the Neutrons won't fit, just replace them with Ion blasters, the effect is the same.

Thank you. Just one more question - will his reinforcements pursue me if he calls them in? If I see any other ships my plan is probably to just bolt.

To the best of my knowledge, there are only two types of NPC's that will chase you around: Drifter Battlships and Concord.

Alright. I'll run around and start buying some of the stuff you listed in preparation for this fight. Wish me luck.

I like your attitude. Just remember though, the scariest things in New Eden aren't the NPC's.

The scariest things in New Eden are the other capsuleers.

Do you think I could get away with skipping the drones and the Stasis Webifiers?
Harrison Dec 31, 2018 @ 3:46pm
You could, but you'd be gimping yourself. Almost half that ship's potential DPS comes from it's drones and over half once you get to more advanced version of it.

The thing is, I don't know how to use drones. And now that you mention it, I don't know how to counter an enemy's drones either, if they have them.
Harrison Dec 31, 2018 @ 3:53pm
Check this out: https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Drones

As for countering them, aside from Rouge Drones which a a dedicated pirate npc group, you'll only ever face drones launched from another player's ship. In which case you'll either target and shoot them the way you would any other object in space, use a smartbomb (which comes with it's own host of complications), or ignore them. The correct answer is super situational.
