That'll give you some idea of where you want to be. Some of these areas are sov space/low sec so you'll want to watch yourself.
Yet... you can train for Amarr ships who use misiles. Not all the Amarr ships are locked with lasers, you know.
Using misiles you can face other rats who do other kind of damage. As an example, Guristas do mostly kinetic, so its easier to fit and fly a ship with passive shield regen with just 1 kind of active shield hardener. Keep in mind that shields have a natural resistance against kinetic and explosive, while they are weaker against EM and thermal.
Heavy Assault Missile IIs in the highs + core probe launcher in the utility high
In the mids, a 10mn AB II (keep speed up, transversal/absolute velocity is key to mitigating damage from battleships), 2 missile guidance computers II, and a Cap Recharger II
In the lows, 2 Ballistic Control Units II, 2 Armor resist Hardeners II (note that the hull has very good resists to kin/explosion), and a Medium Armor Repairer II (cap stable with cap recharger).
In the rigs, a Medium Bay Loading Accelerator II and an Anti-Thermal Pump II.
I use two sets of drones (with my drones skills I use all tech 2 drones). One set consists of a heavy, 2 mediums, and a light for doing max damage to big targets (sac had a drone bandwidth of 50), and the other is a set of 5 lights for frigs/dessies.
