How long does it take to get good at EVE?
I'm thinking about getting into EVE again, I was wondering how long does it take to build up a decent character? As in, I've heard of these epic 10,000 player fights and all this grand corps, how long does it usually take to get into these things? I know it varies, obviously, but I mean is it usually a few days, a few months, a couple years? I have plenty of play time to invest, and I like the gameplay, but I'm wondering how long it takes to get a good corp, a decent PvP ship, some decent capital, good trade ship, figure out some good trade strategies, etc.

Skill trainup takes a while to be able to fly certain ships WELL, but any scrublord who can fit a warp disruptor or scrambler and fly a fast frigate can catch prey for others. Plenty of groups will take in a new guy and show him the ropes. Nullsec is the place to be to learn how to survive, kill, and die without worrying much about it. Give an Alpha clone (free) a try and see if you can dig it, then sub.

Use this code for a free million SP to get you started.

That actually really interests me, if your offer goes to others not just TC. What time and time zone you usually do these big battles

Don't do nullsec, go join us in wormhole space. No capitals, no politics, some drama, and all the ISK and fun in the world. It should take a week or so to git gud to an ok level in skill training for exploration, and a day for PvP in t1 frigs.

Depends what you want to fly and how much time you have. Flying dreadnaughts with a non ♥♥♥♥♥♥ character is like 3 years.

Just training an alpha character takes 3 months or whatever and hes still gonna be garbage.

What you want to do is join a big fleet and be one of the numbers. You will not solo PvP within 5 years, unless you spend a lot of real world money.
