Losing Drones?

I was taking a beating, so I warped. Do the drones I deployed get lost forever or is there a way for me to find them?

They're left behind. If you warp back to the location you were at you may be able to recover them by right clicking your ship and selecting "Reconnect to lost drones". Of course they may be destroyed or scooped up while you're gone.

Personally i vulture drones as much as possible. I once got SUPER lucky and stole two geckos from a combat site because the guy had to warp off.
