Buying Plex for a non-Steam account.

I'm trying to buy Plex from an account I had long before downloading EVE on Steam. I've never created a Steam EVE account. But when I log into my account on EVE's main website and try to buy Plex, I get this message,
"The login credentials you have entered are for an account that is not connected to your Steam Wallet. Currently, only accounts created through the Steam Store can be connected to the Steam Wallet."
I'm not trying to buy Plex using my Steam wallet. I'm trying to pay with a plain old credit card. I don't even know how EVE has linked my existence to Steam, since as I said I never created an EVE account through Steam.

are you accessing the account management through the launcher after opening the launcher through steam? I've heard some issues from doing it that way rather than by just navigating there through the website on a browser.

No, from in-game store menu.

even so, you might try from an out of game browser. if that doesn't work, you may have to file support ticket.

OK, I found out the deal. I got to the store via an in-game link. So EVE's website assumed I was a Steam user (since the one link I have to Steam is that's where I last downloaded the client). So I logged out of the EVE website, closed my browser to clear it, and relogged in. Presto, it worked and I was able to buy Plex normally.

I do know if you havnt logged in, in some time it will ask the name of one of your characters (non steam) is it possible the steam version isnt allowing this security feature? You might want to contact support.
