Scanning Problems.

I am new to the game, an Alpha looking for some ISK. I saw the payment on the science missions was good, so I went into them, but now I am stuck at mission 3, where it just says "scan down the site with your scanner probes". I assume that you need so reposition your probes in the overlay so that they all are right on top of the site or something, you need to reposition them so you can warp to the site. But how?? I have not found any tutorial for that, despite spending amost 2 hours on that mission trying out different things and watching different videos, but I just can't get the hand of it.
Can anybody help? Comments are appreciated!

I only skimmed the video as I'm at work, what I saw though jives with how I scan.

Reload is great, but now there is not even a data training sitepopping up. Did I wait too long? Or can you mess up and destroy the site when probing?

if its there it`ll show up in your prob menu with a % to show how much more you need to scan till you discover the location and can warp. if its missing check your in the right area or the mission didnt expire.

When do missions expire? I know there is a limited time window for extra profit (that one is expired) but I was unaware they expire completely.

i believe its 72 hours after you accept it? i honestly cant remember but once you accept you have a time limit on extra rewards and the mission itself. if you fail to complete the mission in the time limit it expires and you lose influence with the person who gave it to you. you can of course get it again tho.
