If you want to increase that luck you need to know where, when and what anomalies/site to complete.
Where - check http://evemaps.dotlan.net, choice the region, filter npc kill last hour/24 hours or number of jumps. Less is better.
When - Weekends and peak hours are mostly a bad time to explore.
What - There is to many sites and to many info to tell. Site you find get info on google or youtube.
all this is pve; killing rats.
Relics and data sites go to wormhole space, low or null and again: where, when and what.
You're exploring in wormholes/null right? That's where the worthwhile data/relic sites are.
It doesn't turn you into a chickenshit like mining does, and it doesn't ruin your standings like missions do. Outside of more abstract methods like trading/scamming/war, it's the best way to have an income without any downsides.
PI is good too, if you really take advantage of economies of scale.
as a side note, salvaging at combat sites can pay decent aswell. used my crusier to clear bout 5 sites and made 7 mill.
Catch sure is an empty and safe ratting space right now!
Pick a null region and stick to it for a while, so you get to know it and you will then avoid known gate camps, etc.
On the other hand, the astero is great if your goal is to do some cloaky PvP hunting since it's a capable combat ship. And aye, one can always bring along a mobile depot to swap between combat and hacking fits, so it's still a solid explorer even if the cov ops perform that role more efficiently.
there is your problem... GET OUT OF HIGHSEC ASAP... outright noobs aside highsec is crap money for crap players (with notable exceptions) (gankers, deccers, traders (not haulers) and the like are who highsec truely belongs to)
We're trying to help him make isk and git gud-er quick not hate his life and quit from boredom... just saying the SOE arc gives me suicidal thoughts and thats with good skills and being able to run it "fast" (3-4 hours)
