Multiple character training
Why does it say once I have an Omega account I can train multiple characters, but then it says I have to buy something else? Wtf is this?

Multiple character training is not something Omega accounts automatically get. They never have.

There was a special running on multi month subscriptions though. If you paid for more months at a time you got a small amount of multiple character training time in addition.

It specifically said with Omega account you can train multiple characters. Am I misunderstanding something?

Most likely.

As I said before, multiple character training (MCT) has always been an additional cost. The exception to this is when CCP is running a special deal like the the one they were over the last week or so.

They have/had a special offer running for anyone that paid for a new multi-month subscription between date X (I don't know when it started) and Feb. 8th.

Put another way, if you paid for a new (or reupped an old) 3 month subscription during said timeframe they'd throw in 30 days MCT. Or 60 days (MCT) for 6 months and 120 days (MCT) for 12 months.

You CAN train multiple characters as an Omega.

For an additional fee of 1 plex per character per 30 days.

Again, the opportunity to pay only exists for Omegas since you need both MCT and Omega status to train multiple characters. If you thought you were getting some kind of package deal, think again. Characters in EVE are all paid for through time or money.

If you want multiple characters training you essentially need to pay for multiple accounts. But once they're trained, you can pay for a single sub to keep them all active and using Omega skills. That's the only advantage over just having multiple accounts.... the subscription fee.

I personally used my MCT to train up a hauler and PI alt so I wouldn't need those skills on my main. Once MCT runs out I can keep the skills active just paying for my main.

This is the general way that EVE works, everything runs on PLEX. Why is PLEX so affordable to free players? Because pay players can't afford to lose ships constantly in wars. So they sell players real money PLEX in exchange for the ISK to buy more ships with to fund their wars.

Pay players end up having tons of fun exploding each other and the side effect is free players get to play the game in carebear mode for as long as they'd like.

So just earn money and get a PLEX and you can train MCT for free.

Take too long, I'd just buy a plex. Also I don't care about multiple accounts that much, just didn't understand it.

After doing research and surveying people, I came to the conclusion that the PLEX market is almost entirely seeded by newer and/or more PvE-oriented players, and the real-life 1%. PvPers are almost exclusively consumers of PLEXes only.

Have a look at past news then. The great null sec wars were funded selling game time codes and PLEX. Follow The Mittani. Goons especially dropped hordes of PLEX to pay for their ships.

They've also resorted to exploiting and gambling but originally they were paying out of pocket.

Even though that sounds like an outlier, it still probably falls into the 1% category. I can only speak for myself, but I wouldn't drop extra money to fight a video game war, unless it was "♥♥♥♥ you" money to me. In an organization that large, there have to be a few people willing to drop a few thousand bucks for the hell of it. John Smith from some Ohio assembly line certainly won't be cashing in his kid's college fund to do it.
