people stealing combat site loot?

it has happend to me multiple times now that im almost done with a site and then someone else jumps in waits at the gate and when i need to recall my drones to use the gate cuase i dont wanna leave them they just use the gate kill the ship that drops all the good stuff and leave why is this a thing?

Im pretty far away from all the market hubs yet there are still alot of people stealing the loot
