Agreed! I'm going for the harem ending though so I need to romance all girls. Giselle is so hard though, one minute she's so thankful for the gift and then next she's rebuffing me and making jokes about wanting to poison me.
Moooo!
Funnily enough, Giselle is my 2nd favorite of the 5.
Although she may seem distant and cold at times I truly think that deep down she's a very sweet and caring person, but she's also a very shy girl and gets embarrassed quite easily, and she then tries to mask her embarrassment and uneasiness by lashing out at the protagonist in the hopes that he won't notice this, or maybe simply because he's the one who made her feel that way in the first place, and I just find that way too cute in a way.
Hm, I guess the fact that's she's a nurse kind of makes it understandable that she would be caring. Though, it's hard to tell sometimes when she's being sarcastic (if she is) and when she's being serious.
She's just messing with the protagonist when she threatens him with poison and the like, just like her rebuffs are her way of dealing with the protagonist making her feel uncomfortable (and her own inner conflict with her own feelings).
She is basically the anime trope of a tsundere girl (Tsun - Harsh; Dere - Sweet), not sure if you're familiar with it.
I'd say Giselle is more of a "softcore" tsundere, as there are ones that are way harsher to their love interest than her.
I expected Vel to be the token Tsundere but damn, she threw me off hard and kept my attention. She's cute. Kamala is the delicious "Ara Ara~" type, always a plus. Beatrice is the Queen Bee Tsundere, always one of my favorites. Amy is a QT but not one I'd choose as a first pick when put up to the plate of the other girls. Haven't done Giselle yet so I can't comment. But she seems to be the typical Kuudere, just a bit more sassy.
I misinterpreted Kuudere as Yandere then and was thinking, OMG SHE'S GONNA KILL ME! But then I realised....
She is magical girl.
I'd say Amy is second for me because she's just very sweet and I also find her teasing of the squire entertaining. Probably wouldn't date her irl though since her pops could prolly eat me alive.
I was surprised by Beatrice's growth because honestly she left the most sour impression on me even in the interactions following the first one. But she has a very kind side to her.
Vel is interesting and has a colorful past, but I honestly kinda overlooked her (not because she's so short!). She's a bit too boisterous at times for me and when she's not she's too serious.
Kamala is very nice but that's about all I can say. I don't envy the squire having to go shopping with her so often (it's bad enough when a normal girl shops let alone a freakin princess). I also just don't find overly busty women that attractive.
Amy starts great and ends better. She is just generally adorable all round, and the step-sister thing never bothered me.
Vel starts okay and ends great. She is adorable, but her character development is what really sold me.
Giselle starts really meh, but ends good. Her aloof, sarcastic nature really kept me from liking her in the beginning, but her development into an adorable, occult (anime) nerd made me like her a lot more.
Kamala starts good and ends good. Though her using squire as a pack mule really made me not get attached to her. I think it was only in her third arc that I really enjoyed her character and her development. What brings her below Giselle was when she stole the documents from the Study, and treated the quire badly but after hat he went back up. So overall, up and downs that ended up with her being average.
Beatrice started out annoying and ended okay. Really was not a huge fan of her attitude, and only after Squire saves her from the boar and then gives him the apple tarts did I begin enjoying her company.
I think my problem with Giselle (at least at this stage, halfway through month 2) is that she doesn't seem to appreciate anything I do or say. It frustrates me that I can't impress her. For example when I saved her from the bandits she was annoyed that I'd gotten close to her. Plus the gifts I give her seem to make her happy but one second later she's cold and standoffish again. Maybe I just need to keep at it....
