Little exploits like this have always been a part of Subnautica. For instance, I usually craft power cells with empty batteries for free charge. It becomes a problem with the recycolotron because you can endlessly loop exploits for infinite resources at no cost.
There's probably many more I haven't thought of, and I'd love to hear more in the comments.
Remove a battery from a habitat builder, deconstruct > still yields another battery.
And similar to power cells, the tether tool can be charged by reconstructing, saving an ion cube.
Huh, I didn't consider that for some reason. You would get a free battery by deconstructing any empty tool that requires a battery to build.
