Solar Panel Placement

So, a few days ago I went to restart for the Ice Worm update. Everything's going about as well as can be expected- no new voice recordings so having to read subtitles, sure, changed opening means no more supply drop with habitat builder, okay. Little miffed that I'm having to infer what the next step is after the Twisty Bridges sanctuary and wouldn't have gone to the Island without having played before, but it's a change in progress, so no big.

So I go to set up a base and... I can't place Solar Panels on top of rooms or corridors, only- what're they called- the lead-and-titanium base support panels, and on the small chunks of corridor created by sticking a hatch onto a Multipurpose Room. Didn't think to get video or a picture at the time, but the game is basically refusing to allow me to put the things on nearly all curved surfaces, even if the curve is very mild (a la Multipurpose Room). I haven't tried sticking a panel atop the Moonpool yet, but the other rooms I can build right now are all no-goes for the solar panels.

Is this a problem other people are having? Is it known to the devs? Is there a scheduled/expected fix for it?

No scheduled fix for this, this is low priority. There are other bugs to fix first.
