How do I install mods in the game now and will they all work?

Get them off of Nexus Mods, all you need to do is look for the mods you want and download the files. You'll have to make an account, which is free, and look for a video on how to install the files you download. It's fairly simple, also you need to be sure to check the required mods (box labelled "Requirements" at the top of every mod page's description).

This is because some mods require other base mods/files to work. Also be sure to periodically back your save files up to another folder manually, some mods or mod clashes could cause instability and break your save. This is not too common but is a good thing to be aware of.

This is clear to me, but as an example, the More Quick Slots mod requires the QModManager 2.0 mod, but at the moment it is version 4 and because of this it does not work.

That shouldn't matter, in the case of mods requiring Qmod Manager or SMLHelper they will generally work with the latest version. If for some extremely odd reason it does not, you should be able to find older versions in the Files tab (next to the Description tab). But try the latest version first.

I already tried to install it yesterday and the mod doesn't work and that's why I'm asking

Oh I forgot, More Quick Slots is extremely outdated. The one you want to use is Slot Extender Zero. For that you will need to download Nautilus BZ. Be sure to read the description of Nautilus carefully as it has some information about compatibility. Sorry for not noticing this earlier. Try to use mods that say they use Nautilus/BebInEx now as they are more suited to the current game version.

Another thing: if you plan on getting a lot of mods that add items to the fabricators, get the Radial Tabs mod. It makes the expanded fabricator menus much more manageable.
