Electric swimfins not charging held tools?
I've noticed the electric swimfins will only charge the seaglide when equipped and will not only refuse to charge other held tools, but will drastically slow your swim speed as well. I have found, in my case anyway, that this ONLY happens when I have auxiliary air tanks in my inventory. Stow the extra tanks in a locker and all works as it should. Don't know if this is a bug or by design. Hope someone finds this useful.

They only work when your swim speed is high enough. Those extra air tanks in your inventory slow you down. The reinforced suit also slows you down if wearing it. I've never found the swim charge fins useful. More about what speed you need here

Huh, I didn't know items in your inventory could slow you down. I thought that was limited to having the Reinforced Diving Suit equipped.

I believe it's only tanks. Probably to punish cheesing by filling your inventory with tanks.

There is some conflicting information though. The link I posted above says any tank in inventory slows your speed, but this other page mentions it's only the ultra-high tank. I figured I'd test it for myself, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Holding a tool also slows you down
The Swim Charge Fins don't slow you down with the Seaglide, but the extra UHC Tanks will. Note that it's only the largest tanks that have a speed penalty. The High-Capacity Tanks before that final upgrade do not.

Yeah, I did a quick test of the High-cap tank timing a short swim, and then found you can see your speed in the console. They don't slow you down. So that first wiki page is wrong, or out of date.
