why there is no cyclops or seamouth in below zero [with comparison]
i saw cyclops made a better base in the subnautica original but they decided to replace it with a sea truck , it is much worse much longer (for no reason) and it too THICK you can't move or store your stuff , or better at least decorate and modularazite it as you like and the worst of all , the slow speed , even a fully tuned seatruck (HP) is much slower from a stock none tuned cyclops with slow speed option and as for limited to prawn suit , it is not the finest thing apart from going to the surface , seamouth could go up and down and wan't limited to terrain only transportation
EDIT:
just though the pros and cons its worse than they think:
SEATRUCK
pros:
+manuvrability
+teleporter
+jukebox
+minor size modularity
+auto collect fish at aquarium
=can be fast with modding
=a mod can help with poor storage but it needs to get out of the seatruck in order to access it
cons:
-terrible utility
-very strict non modular for building (you can't build your favourite coffee machine while you can do it in cyclops)
-no greenhouse
-cannnot be decorated from inside
-no all-in-one (yes cyclops can be multipropuse while seatruck can only service a speicific propuse at a time (cargo transfer , miner , exploration)
-bad water production
-difficult to costumize
-terrible storage capacity
-you go back to your base on death
-no docking auto-repair
=very slow speed if not modded
CYCLOPS:
pros:
+all-in-one (with the correct setup it can server any propuse from cargo transport to long haul exploration almsost forever)
+bigger battery capacity
+cyclops works as a respawn-save point and you go back there if you die
+very high storage capacity even with a few lockers installed
+modular (build a coffe machine,storage cabinet,radio whereever you like)
+can be decorated how you like it both from inside and outside
+perfect mobile base (you can have your cyclops as your pernament moving home)
+greenhouse (grow your plants and never worry about that auto-collector (which need you to move your truck from time to time)
+perfect utility
+docking autorepair
=with alterra portable water generator its a perfect one and you never need to worry about water ever again
=seabreaze mod allows onboard cyclops refridgirator to keep the food fresh
cons:
-no fish collector
-no jukobox
-no teleporter
-can be difficult to manuvrable in enclosed spaces

The Seamoth probably because it would be to fast. The map has been severely downsized compared to the Subnautica's map and the Seamoth would make it seem to small. Same reason they lowered the speed of the Seaglide.

Because it is another game... couldnt find indiana jones in tomb raider games either 🤷🏻‍♀️

btw... cyclops is much too big for the below zero map. only thing you could do with it is rotate around his own axis till you have to vomit

but it takes forever to do this on the SLOW seatruck

The Seatruck is definitely not my favorite vehicle, but it get's the job done I suppose.

the seatruck and the seamoths have their ups and downs

the moth is fast but very fragile
the truck is quite versatile however it comes with the cost of speed
the truck can run longer since it has more power life in it than the moth (two power cells vs one)
the truck can carry the prawn, the moth cannot

everyone keeps looking at only the downsides of the truck but yet they never look at the upsides

The customization potential of the seatruck's modules do not compare to that of the Cyclops's freeform-built interior. But then, there was never any way to fit a vessel on the scale of the Cyclops on this map.

It's emblematic of Below Zero in general, really. Smaller, less capable, less ambitious. An economy version of a superior prototype. A good choice for a smaller budget.

Where you going to drive the cyclops in the BZ map.

Use unslow seatruck mod on nexus and done. Main complain solved. Do not hope for the devs to change it. Otherwise they would probably already have done it. Since such complains are over a year old.

The cyclops doesn't have any sense in this game.

Shame, I just loved the cyclops so much. It was an epic experience, especially evading leviathans and being scared to ping them ;)

But why is the new map smaller?? Why?!

It's not in the game because:

1- it would fit almost nowhere, the map being very, very small.
2- the map being very, very small, you don't really need a mobile base.

That said i personally appreciated the Seatruck.

I believe due to performance reasons. Even on high end PC's, the first game would start to lag once you explored most/all the map, so the devs made the map in BZ smaller so it would lag less when exploring.

How is the seatruck slower than a Cyclops?
tonimark Feb 16, 2021 @ 6:20am
cyclops would be a great cargo transport since seatruck has a poor cargo capacity
