Quantum Lockers, whats the point???
I understand what the Quantum Lockers do, I can make two, put on at a base in the twisty bridges and one at a base in the lilypads (I didn't, thats just an example), I can then obtain resources put in any Quantum Locker. However, they are so small, they have to be floating about outside, and the recipe needs ion cubes I'd rather save for batteries.

I did build two and tried it out, but seriously I don't see why I would bother making many of those. They don't hold enough resources to make them worth the effort.

Am I missing something about these, or are they as useless as they appear to be?

For now I put them in the recycle machine to get the resources back.

They're pretty useful for storing mass resources you'll need at an endpoint. Like building a scanner base for example. It's basically one tool for inventory management. You might prefer a slow seatruck with a ton of storage modules instead. That said, if you don't like them, they're just a tool.

Forget the quantum mechanic, the nice thing is that you can pick them up when full. Takes up 4 slots, holds 16, free 12 inventory slots. It holds the exact amount of resources for a scanner room, hatch, and 1 solar panel, and I just keep it in my Seatruck.

I like the idea - but the execution was bad. It's just way too small to be useful as anything other than inventory expansion (as the last poster describes). No Man's Sky has storage that works in the same way - but the implementation is much better (there are actually 10 "quantum lockers" and each one is much bigger and more useful than the one in BZ)

The idea is useful in Minecraft, because you can carry one chest with you, and if you find anything rare in a dungeon, just put it in the chest, and if you die the item is safe and retrievable at the base.

I couldn't find any similar use for BZ.

I looked at the description and never built one. Same for the tether module.

And you can combine the ender chests in Minecraft with shulker boxes, making the inventory space potentially unlimited.

I found it useful for the inventory space, but in my game the mechanical hiss/rumble sound of the locker would continue after I put it in my inventory. Only way to make it shut up was to save and reload. I reported it in the bug forum, just mentioning it here in case anyone gets the same problem.

Regarding the tether: You can recycle it when it is partially discharged, then use the cube to make an ion battery, then recycle the battery to get the cube back. I expected to have to charge the battery but it wasn't necessary, it came out of the fabricator fully charged. Sloppy business, hope they tidy it up with a future patch.

I put one in the storage of my truck or prawn depending on where I'm going and have the other in my green house area and just fill that one with salads. Completely removes the survival aspect that's there but I'm happy.

So thats pretty useless also for now.

I seem to remember having a ton of ion cubes at the end of the game and not use for them. I didn't find much use for the truck teleport (because it's one way only), but at 4 goes per cube, I doubt renewing them would be much of a concern.

@I understand what the Quantum Lockers do

No. You don't. :)
The Quantum Box is primarily an inventory expander.
It takes 2 * 2 cells, and contains 4 * 4.
Those we have 16-4 = 12 additional slots to our inventory.

It is convenient, for example, to put in it rarely used tools such as the Propulsion Cannon or an additional O2 tank, Spy Pengling. You can even put Snowfox in it.
