Now cue the white knights saying you're imagining things and how dare you not like our politics in your game.
(or even to define the term)
re OP: Well, reviews so far + access numbers as an indicator of sales seems to disagree with your conclusion that it was a negative thing to develop the game the way they did. It might not work for you, but keep in mind that like all companies, they operate in a capitalist market.
They're here to turn a profit, not provide the most amazing piece of art you in particular can imagine. If they could make the exact same cash uploading an empty text file, they would. And so would any company, after all, why ignore free cash if making cash is why you exist (hence the company and all).
And yeah, so far it seems that if anything, they made the right decisions. Game is successful.
You dont have to own the game to comment on it, he could have watched someone steam it, read the wiki, or watched someone play it on youtube, also he could have pirated it or already refunded. God I wish I could refund.
It would be the same as me asking you how many times do you plan on entering threads and adding nothing of value to them while trying to stir up trouble?
I cannot imagine how it can be considered a success by any standard. Not all things that make money are a success. These people sold their game to players who trusted them to deliver, and I would like to see how many of those players would ask for a refund now, after playing a few hours on the finished product... I suspect most of them.
I thought some folk were against cancel culture. ;)
Oh semantics, you call it what you want, boycotting IS cancel culture, that's the point of cancel culture, stop making weak excuses for being a hypocrite.
They're moving away from Subnautica after this to work on different genres. This is probably the last Subnautica content we get unfortunately.
And what's wrong in boycotting a company that acts in a way I don't like? This is getting ridiculous. cancel culture... who comes up with such bollocks???
cancel culture is not even a word for me. Everyone has the right to boycott without being shamed with new words that don't even make sense.
I just popped in to see what other people think of this game, possibly have a laugh, and I find a sad mess that has nothing to do with game or politics, just an excuse to argue. I'm off.
Who shamed you? I agree with boycotting, it gets companies to sit up and take notice if there's enough people doing it, have at it.
