Shadow Leviathan Tips?
The sequel's here! I'm back for more tips regarding dealing with the shadow leviathan e.g. what prawn suit upgrades should I get and how to avoid being spotted cause that was a massive problem when I first tackled the crystal caves 8 months back.

Would it be worth sneaking in to get the prawn suit propulsion arm fragments?

Probably. I've found grappling hook+drill to be the most useful for dealing with leviathans. You can grapple onto them and them drill them, although your prawn suit often gets destroyed. The propulsion arm is probably best for not getting your prawn murdered in cod blood :D

Does the propulsion arm work on leviathans?

Apparently the propulsion arm doesn't do repulsion, go figure. Shame really.

I believe the idea with the prop arm is to grab stuff and launch them at the leviathan, tho I have had little success with it myself.
The seatruck with no modules and the shock upgrade.
He'll let you go when you shock him, making him pretty non-terrifying.

Sounds good, but are there any large resource deposits in the cave system cause in that case I'd get more use out of the prawn suit, even though it's the riskier choice.

One tiny issue, I've used up the 4 pieces kyanite found on the very top of the crystal caves so I'd have to go in to get more, putting me in direct contact with the shadow leviathan to get the depth module.

Yes there are large deposits of resources of kyanite and other resources.

That settles it then. I'll just have to tank the +10 damage on the prawn suit.

Yeah there is but there is also a heap of resources just laying around you can just pick up. I just take the sea truck with the defence module, As "well.thats.me.told" said a hit of the defence module makes it run.

It can't hit you if you wiggle around while swimming. You don't need a Prawn nor a Seatruck. Simply wiggle when it tries to bite you, and if you do it correctly, it doesn't hit you.

The easier strategy is to use Perimeter Defense ability on the Seatruck. When the Leviathan tries grabbing you, you press the ability. You don't take any damage.

The Prawn Suit default punch is way stronger than the Drill.

People like the Grapple+Drill combo because it's neat I guess, probably makes ya feel like the creature you are fighting is so tough you have to drill past its armor to hurt it.

But no, just take a bare handed Prawn suit (no grapple) and stand still and box the Shadow Leviathan out. No need to Grapple and ride the Shadow Leviathan's they'll just turn around and immediately attack you over and over.

1 Drill Arm constantly drilling = Tiny insignificant DPS but steady damage

2 Punching Arms punching = Slower "rate of fire" but tremendously higher DPS

Kill the Shadow Leviathan, just chill in the Prawn suit and punch away. Get out to repair as necessary.

I'd rather kill the leviathan so I might use this method but how far would it follow me from its patrol radius cause I didn't know they changed it and built my base on the tree spire layer between Marguerit's base and the crystal caves.
