Unable to scan coffee machine or large locker at rocket island base.
Been to rocket island base and scanned a number of items, but the coffee vending machine and large locker couldn't be scanned (I tried as many angles as I could). Yeah, I did visit Wiki and it did say neither of these items are available in game yet, but at the same time i figured wiki might be outdated, so thought maybe I'd ask anyway because, if they have been added since, then someone might know another location to scan them.

You can still get coffee. Grab some and store it to take home and on Glacial basin. I always have a couple cups with me while one the snowfox. Being a coffee drinker have to have some for that extra umph.. ;p

that is actually a viable option ^

right now im just trying to figure out how to spawn a bioreactor in the right place... since solar panels ain't gonna cut it. If i had a coffee it would seem easier.

LOL Coffee makes everything easier! ;p

I have not had a power issue with the solar panels as of yet. For the twisty bridges I just build multi in range of light and tunnel down to where I want to build from there. Have a couple of multi's in between at strategic locations. My base has 1250 power and runs just fine. I did get rid of the moonpool, was a huge drain and not needed as of yet in the game since we have recharger. Stopped just above squidly. :)
Plan on doing this close to the tree spires as well.

Are you deep in a cave? If not, solar panels are fine.

Thanks for the suggestion and insight. And nah, I am not in a cave or very deep for my first base tbh. but i do remember having issues at night in the original Subnautica (standing in front of my fabricator until the sun came up ..sipping coffee... waiting). Given i probably didn't have enough panels out XD i guess i will have to make do with panels until they implement other power sources. oof.

I'll use panels until then. thanks guys!

Yup, not enough panels. I was 100% solar in the original and could run everything all night long, same in this game.

LOL Yep I have solar panels everywhere I can put them. Even on the multi mid level in the twisty. 1250 power has so far worked. Have containment, water filtration, chargers I use only during the day and music during the day as well. Had to up to 1250 to support the filtration. Have the control room only for base marker. Does not seem to effect power much. Scanner room not used much anymore either.

This is how my base is currently powered..

tbh completely honest, I do find solar panels look a little untidy. i like a nice neat outward appearance while sailing home in my sub XD but dont think that takes away from what you've done, you did it well and looks good.

But you have now got me thinking... it's too early for Below Zero mods? actually i haven't checked. but your compartments are blue. is there a way to change their colour in game? because if there is i have missed it and would now feel like a complete idiot for not seeing that decorative function earlier.

The control room lets you change your "subs" color. In this case the "sub" turns out to be your base.

oh wow! thanks for the tip!

*Installs a control room*

now im kinda hoping they will add the control room and large room to the original soobnoot

The original has a mod that changes base color (inside and out)

Also, there are indeed mods out for Below Zero. The only one I am using right now is the map mod.
