Are thermal plants broken?
I'm on a new playthrough, the last time I played was just before 1.0 was released. I never had any issues before. I've built my base in roughly the same area, and thermal plants in roughly the same area as before as well (active vents, just below the delta station dock). Each plant (I have 5) says 84-85 degrees. I had to rebuild several times because some would show 252 degrees for whatever reason, figured that was incorrect. I have checked and rechecked the transmitters connecting the plants to my base, and each one has the blue beam. I even spent a good hour and a half rebuilding the chain to make sure beams aren't "obstructed" because of the way the wiki has them worded. My control room was showing around 10.0 per second, but then just...stopped. Now it only shows what my solar panels produce.

I've tried breaking and reconnecting the transmitter chain, and my power capacity adjusts accordingly, so the game is recognizing that the plants are built and connected to my base but they just refuse to generate power for whatever reason.

I finished another game of the first game a couple weeks ago and the thermal plants in that one worked just fine.

I have no idea whats going on. Is there a limit on the distance power can transmit thats been added since last time I played? The distance between plants and base is around 500m, never had any issues before.

Every reactor has a max capacity. When they're fully charged, they cease to produce an input.

This might be confusing to understand, but when you build them, they'll produce power until their capacity is full. Then they just stop.

The power is drained in the order of construction. If you built your solar panel first, then the thermal plant, the solar panel will be drained first.

So if your solar panels are enough to sustain your output, your thermal plants won't be used.

I see. I think I read about that as well. I'm guessing it won't always keep my power capped? My control room is showing generation of about 1.31 (it's night time), and a drain of 3.55 without half stored power. You're right, it is super confusing. What I haven't tried yet is just removing the solar panels. I'll give that a try and see if things change. I don't think I like that system at all, but I appreciate the input.
