Boundary Enforcement - Too Aggressive?
So I was exploring to the north, ran into the ice wall. Followed it to the East (I think) and suddenly got a message: "Entering ecological dead zone. Probability of survival is rapidly approaching zero." Oops, okay then, I'll turn around.
Nope. BAM, you're dead.
Now, I'm okay with boundaries being either invisbile or instantly lethal, but they should not be both.

You have plenty of time to turn around. The game will spawn three huge leviathans to encourage you to return to the game map.
The other sides are blocked by ice walls, the playable map is quite small.

Except for your first time encountering the dead zone, you are not warned that you're in it. Sometimes you won't notice you entered it. That's one issue I have with it.

Well, I hear you that my experience was not typical, but I know for a fact that I heard the warning and died a few seconds later for no immediately obvious reason. Maybe I'll strip down to a minimal level of possessions and go back to where I died. I'll see whether or not I can replicate it.

Were you in a vehicle? Just swimming?

I was either swimming or using the Seaglide, don't recall which. I'd left the Seatruck a little ways behind me. I guess it's possible I ran out of air but I screamed and the screen went red with the cracked glass image so I don't think that's what happened.

I think the huge leviathans can one shot you if your health isn't at max. in any case, I salut you for swimming outside your Seatruck, I would never do that, specially near the void.

Yeah, in retrospect that was probably unwise, but I'm still at a point that replacing the Seatruck is a pain. So I'm reluctant to risk it.
