What unlocks the delta station beacon?
So 3 hours in, build everything i can, but laser cutter as I havn't found any diamonds.

There is no clue as to what you should do, at least in Subnautica there was the Aurora you could see, the radio giving you pointers as to where to go in the beginning, but here, nothing.
Only lead you get is an island you can't miss, but there is none to be seen from the surface.
The platform floating with the broken cable, nothing there either and the Emergency Supply Cache gives you nothing but a little more story.
I know from searching here that it is south and that it should unlock at some point.
But what is that point?
I'm really want to try to not just go there from searching the internet, but instead actually what the game whants you to do.

It feels a lot more like you are just thrown in without any tips, unlike Subnautica where there always was an arc/points you could fall back on.
This is ok, if you could at least the rely on the clue you got, but saying it is unmissable and then make so you can't see it is bad in my opinion.
Then at least so it and make it hard to get there, so you have to do something that makes sence.

As you expand in an arc around the lifepod, the Delta Island beacon should activate. I think just past the floating platform with the sparking wire. There is no other trigger to send you directly there.

Thank you for the answer, but that didn't do it, I had to go on the island back to the pod, whent northwest to go down and grab some more silver and then it activated.

There could be multiple triggers, but you will normally get it when you pass within about 150 meters of Delta Island. You can get it within the first 5 minutes of the game if you head right there. Most people get as they're exploring the Deep Twisty Bridges. There may also be a secondary time-based trigger.

easiest way to find its location is to look back at where you crash landed, draw a line from there to the lifepod, and then continue down that line, once u get a certain distance from the pod towards the island the beacon will activate. usually activates near the edge of the twisty bridges

typically, you will want to head a way from most the ice and find a floating platform then you are a good 150-200 meters away if the ocean floor turns black with spires then you will be at the delta station.
