It's true. A lot of fixes and optimizations for Subnautica have been happening behind the scenes, but aren't ready to push to the stable branch just yet. We'll have a team supporting both Subnautica and Below Zero after the latter launches.
Also, on what comes next, we want to make sure whatever might happen in the Subnautica universe is something that makes sense for a follow-up to the first game and also Below Zero. A lot more discussion still to happen!
I would really appreciate , yes also PAY for DLCs , with new maps and story to explore.
I don't need any fancy new creatures and biomes. we have sufficient now in both games.
the modding community could create new maps and a story could be told with PDAs, however, Enderal has shown that a great modding community would als even make voice texts themselves.
Subnautica has so much potential, if you had expanded the base game it would have appealed to more people.
I see the financial aspects behind it, but you could have done it like in ARK expansions cost money and I would have gladly paid the same price for an EA DLC in the basegame as for Subnautica Below Zero.
Many wanted a multiplayer mode like in ARK.
I think if you had gone in that direction the game would now be at least as popular as ARK.
We never said we didn't want to continue working on Subnautica. We're just taking as break from developing new Subnautica games after Below Zero. Remember, a lot of the team have been working on Subnautica since 2013, so we'd like to make other games for a while.
Looking forward to any future projects.
