Thermos?
I love that the coffee machine has a new use in this game, but why does it take away 2 H2o??? Is coffee not a liquid?

it's diuretic liquid which means it promotes urine production and thus dehydration if you don't substitute the water.

Yes, it's not actually the coffee which warms you up, its the old trick of peeing in your drysuit.

MILD diuretic that, unless you drink a whole lot of it, doesn't promote dehydration at all. Coffee actually counts towards your 2 to 3 liters of fluids a day.

*Start Dev defending mode* But maybe the coffee in this game is quattuordecuple strength espresso so it is realistic and not a lazy, unnecessary addition to this otherwise shallow game! *Dev defending mode off*

A steaming number two heats you up pretty nicely too!
