Base above ground hull strenght help
So i completed the game and started over and is trying to challenge myself to build a base above ground and then pipe down vertical connector to the bottem but the hull is decreasing and nothing i build above adds to the hull do i have to build it under water to gain the hull strengh?

You weld reinforcement panels onto the side instead of windows everywhere. Just like you would underwater.

ya i know what i am saying is any time i upgrade above water like reinforcements or foundations non of them seem to increase my total hull strengh it should be like +20 with stuff i have above ground :(

above water didn't affect the total hull strength in the first one, haven't tried at all but sounds like it's the same.

and if you think about it, why would reinforcing the hull above sea level help with water pressure?

Are you adding hull reinforcements above water? Nothing placed above water will affect hull integrity - modules won't decrease hull integrity and reinforcements won't increase hull integrity. You need to place hull reinforcements under-water to increase hull integrity.

Yeah, like Meewec points out, this is trying to metagame by having reinforced segments that you don't like above water in order to avoid dealing with water pressure. There are ways to game it still, but I don't like doing that. I enjoy the challenge fo making a base look good while having these restrictions, there are ways you can do that, too.

i got my stuff build under water now it took forever of going back and fortth to collect all the stuff :D

i always had an engineering section i lined with reinforcements
